I have a Comfort system that I installed myself on early 2005.
This comprises:

Comfort 1 Ultra, Firmware Action 4.22, File System 24
SEP02-230, Firmware 4.177
UCM01/Ethernet RS232 Type 10, Firmware Version 5.063
2 x LEM01 Expansion Modules
2 x KP02 Keypads

I have this running with Comfigurator Version 3.9.5
It is running as an alarm system with minimal programming of responses

I am looking to upgrade this system to enable me to utilise the Android App and to provide future reliability.

From the information I can find on this forum it looks as if all the above components will need to be replaced.  Is this correct?

the Comfort PCB and LEM needs to be replaced
Keypads and SEM can be retained

see the compatibility guide here http://www.comfortforums.com/forum16/1470.html

You will need  the new UCM/ETH03 to use the android and iOS apps, the time sync and email features

the CM9000 upgrade should come with a metal plate ACC-PLATE01 which  allows the new CM9000 PCB to mount on the old comfort enclosure
