Comfort Automation/ Security System Forums

Hi,

I have changed my system to now use the eth03. With my old eth I could VPN into my home network and use the android app with comfort. I am using the latest app and now when I VPN in the app cannot talk to comfort but works fine when I am at home on the local network.

I do not want to forward any ports and only want to have remote access to comfort when the VPN is active.

Any ideas?

Why would any local IP address not work with VPN?
Does any VPN expert have any idea?

A bit more info. When I VPN into my network I can ping all the other devices on the network apart from eth03. I have made sure the ip, gateway and subnet are all correct. When I try and ping eth03 at home (local) then it pings fine. Could this be something to do with the routing mode option or transport protocol?

the local ip address usaully starts with 198.***.***.*** if your outside of the local network you will have to use the IP address for your WAN

That 192.168... right?

Hi, Thanks for the reply. When the VPN is active you get a local 192 address so should be able to use the static address. I can ping the other local addresses in the network via the vpn

what does not work, Comfigurator or the Comfort app?
did you try both?

The vpn still has to be set with a static wan address and your router must be configured tcp forward you will have to check you have the etho is within tcp range for your vpn

Try using the same lan address as your old etho
