Hi there,
I am testing an external relay which I want to trigger specifically on a siren event.
To do so as a catch all, I am using the Siren Output setting within default partition 0 (I\'m not using partitions 1-3) to trigger the relay on an output zone.
1. Please confirm that the Siren Output within the partitions setting is in ADDITION to the regular siren output - ie BOTH will trigger on siren event.
2. So as not to disturb neighbours, I need to do extensive testing without triggering the physical bell box for this scenario. I believe the Bell Out needs to be left to Yes in order to trigger the Siren Output in partitions. What is the best way to disable the siren from sounding in this scenario. Without going into the bell box.
Thanks
Siren Output on partition 0 wil trigger only on partition 0. If you do not have any zones on partition 0 then that output will not turn on

Correct

You mean \"Bell\" checkbox in siren types? Yes that needs to be \"Yes\"
In Partition events, Siren Output shoud be assigned to the Comfort Output for each partition.
In order to prevent the external siren from sounding you can disconnect the wires from the SRN- and SRN+
ok, great thanks Chiu.
Yes, I\'m not using partitioning, everything is in Partition 0, so Siren Output only needed on Partition 0.
I suppose asked in a simpler way, I\'m looking for whether there is a way to control the SRN and Siren Output distinctly, but seems not.
Thanks
So now testing this and I can\'t get the Siren Output Partition event to work.
- Siren Type Intruder - Bell is set to Yes
- SRN- and SRN+ terminal block is removed (to temporarily disable external bellbox from triggering)
- Siren Output is set on Partition 0 to trigger Output 11 in Partition Events
- Activate Siren Intruder from a Response.
- Internal speaker Siren triggers
- Siren Output does not trigger the external relay I have attached to Output 11.
For the purpose of the test, I\'m not triggering an Alarm state, just simply the Intruder Siren from the Response.
I have independently triggered Output 11 from a response and it is working ok from there and relay triggers just fine.
Any clues as to why Siren Output is not triggering Output 11?
PS - I have other Partition Event responses triggering correctly e.g. On security off, which is set on Partition 0, so I don\'t think this has anything to do with Partition settings.
sorry, I thought you had partitions. if you do not have any zones in other partitions the partition siren output does not work.
You can use alarm responses to turn on any output by response. eg Intruder alarm, panic, fire alarm can trigger the same response
Where can I capture alarm events to trigger the responses?
The point in trying to use Siren output was to capture any alarm event that triggers the siren. The point being a siren could be triggered by many different events, and I need to trigger the relay whenever any such event is triggered.
Also, separately, Iâve tried using the set/unset status output to set an output on arm/disarm but similarly it is not responding to arm or disarm events and the output isnât triggered. Why would that be as it is not dependent on partitions?
To be a little bit clearer, I need to also be able to trigger the siren which Iâm doing using relay to a zone input. So to trigger siren and silence it remotely but using the siren output as a catch all to set the status in the relay correctly whenever the siren is triggered not just from the relay. Iâm able to trigger the siren and silence it remotely through the relay but not capture the siren event in the relay if the event came from comfort - thatâs what I want to do, hence thinking I could capture the siren output.
Setting the response on an alarm type would require sign in to silence the alarm, unless - would it work to trigger a response on alarm type to set the relay output on alarm to turn it on, and then to silence, trigger a zone input with off response with security off, (rather than siren off) triggered from the relay trigger off.
On the issue of partitions and siren output, not sure if Iâve understood your response correctly, but if I created a single fake zone in partition 1 would the siren output on partition 0 then work?
I am afraid I do not understand your explanation any better than before.
Do you need an output to turn on and off at the same time as the external bell, ie they both behave the sane way at the same time. Or do you need the output to act independently of the external bell?
Do you want to trigger a siren type by a response? if you want the output to turn on then you need to add that output conttrol to the same response.
You can add a a zone partition1 if you want the partition 0 siren output to work, but that is an output that turns on and off together with the bell, and you would have to disarm the system to tiurn it off just like the bell output.

The set/unset status outputs do trigger the output assigned. I have just confirmed by assigning output 11 to set/unset status. Output 11 is turned on by armed state and off by disarming.
You can check the real time output status by checking Show status box in the Outputs page, without connecting a relay to the output. Or use Register Monitor in Comfort registers to monitor any output see

Outputs page is shown below
See screenshots. Status Output set to Output 10. System then Armed. Output 10 remains off
