I have Comfort attached to Homevision via RS232. I need HomeVision to know when Comfort has been reset or restarted so it can synchronise (ask Comfort to perform some responses).
What messages will be output on Comfort\'s serial ports when it starts up?

These are what I got from comfort bus monitor at the startup:

2. Change to security off by user 0.
3. Request ALL KEYPAD to turn off LED1, turn on LED2, turn off LED3, turn off LED4.
4. Request ALL KEYPAD to turn off mic, turn on speaker.
5. KEYPAD1 requests version information.
6. Version information sent.
7. KEYPAD1 queries IVS info.
8. IVS info sent.
9. Set date and time.
10. Download zone words command.
11. KEYPAD1 requests temperature unit.
12. ALL MODULES (or MAINBOARD) reports temperature unit is Celcius.
13. Request ALL MODULES (or MAINBOARD) to turn off mic, turn off speaker.
PS: I use Comfort II ULTRA mainboard (ver 5.121), a KP04(ver 1.08r) and UCM05 (ver 5.159).

When you say Comfort bus monitor - is this the monitor in Comfigurator or wizcomfort, or something else?
Of course, I\'m probably not going to see any of that communication in HomeVision as I\'m not yet logged in - I\'m presuming after a reset or power cycle, all UCM logins will be dropped?
So I guess I\'m not going to get anything useable from Comfort until I do log in.
Off the top of my head, I\'m thinking there are two ways of achieving this sync:
1) Use a physical output attached to HomeVision and set the output high via the powerup response. HV would then login and run a response to set the output low and do anything else it needs.
2) Continually send some kind of query via HV to Comfort - if Comfort doesn\'t respond (or it sends a logged out message - can\'t remember what that is ATM), then it logs in and does anything else it needs.
Any thoughts on the above?
Maybe I actually need to do both?

Comfort bus monitor is similar to I/O monitor in comfigurator but instead of displaying the commands and their parameters it displays the messages in words as you\'ve seen in previous post.
Yes, after a reset all UCM logins will be dropped.

Both your methods will work
You can also use the Starup Response to Send Rs232 string action to the UCM ID. This can send any arbitrary string to Homevision to tell it that there has been a reset
I believe Homevision does not need to be logged in to receive this but I am not 100% sure
