Each set of 8 outputs on Comfort Controller, LEM01 or Slave is limited to 300 mA total
This is limited by a resettable fuse which protects the outputs against damage
The resettable fuse will recover when the excessive current is removed
Use outputs on different modules to split up the current load

hope you can help again. I would like to use the outputs to power up leds.
1, i would like to use a tri colour led on a couple of doors.
LED off, alarm state off,
LED green, zone bypassed
LED red, zone not bypassed.
2 i have a couple of ir beams in the garage so when beam is broken it triggers leds which are basically act like traffic lights.
beam one broken green led lights
beam one and two broken amber led lights
beam two broken red led lights.
can I power the leds directly from the output or do i need to do some electronice to drop voltage / current.

The outputs will go to 0V when it is turned on, so there wil be 12V betwen the center Common 12V terminal and the output terminal
You can use this voltage to drive LEDs but you wil need to connect a resistor in series depending on the voltage and current specs of the LED
Try adding a 2.7 K resistor provided for use for EOL resistors. If the LED is too dim use a lower resistor value

Hi All,
I have managed to get this idea 50% working.
I have used a bi colour LED which has 2 anodes and one cathode. the problem with this is the O/P drop to 0v and the common remains at 12v so I believe this will not work and needs to be the opposite way round. I have tried all combinations I can think of, and the only configuration I can get working is one side of the led (either red or green) not both.
Any ideas? I guess the only other way is to use 2 LEDs rather than I bi colour.
The positive is I do get the logic to work so that the LED will light when bypass is enabled.
This is such a flexible system I love it.

Try looking for a bicolour led with 2 cathods and 1 anode

I am having an issue with my relay outputs to my sprinkler zones. I have had a 1 amp 24 VAC power supply operating just fine for 10 years but now I keep blowing the power supply fed to my relay outputs because it seems that the sprinkler solenoids are drawing more current than they used to.
If currents were limited to 300 mA by Comfort then I would have thought that it would not have been possible to be drawing excessive currents that keep blowing my power supply.
The only strategy seems to be to go for a power supply with a larger current rating but will I be limited by what Comfort can drive?

Are you refering to RLY10H or (other relays direct output as it should not blow and fuses that you describe relays are zero voltage direct output 300ma!
YOu need to use a multimeter to see what the voltage is on sprinkler system, disconect from comfort and test each component, lond winded process but the most effective way

You say that your external power supply 24VAC 1 Amp is the one that is damaged by the solenoid
Comfort main board limits the current to the Relay Coil to 300 ma ie the input of the relay. This is not related to the current from the external power supply
If your power supply is damaged by the solenoid, this is completely isolated from the coil or Input of the comfort relay. It is a problem with the external power supply not being able to drive the solenoid.

Thanks for that information.Before I source a different power supply I just wanted to check if I might encounter any issues with Comfort.Glad to know that the solenoids drawing more current is independent of Comfort.

Before you change your power supply for a larger one, you might want to check the wiring to the solenoids. If there is a short, it would account for your problem and would not be solved by uprating the supply.
