Hi

When armed the external bellbox makes two loud chirps. Is it possible to make those come from the door station and keypad and not from the bellbox. I realise this must be an siren type, but I can\'t see which one.

This is Siren Type 5 - Away Armed
Uncheck the BELL OUTPUT box and check the Doorphone box

That is what I thought, I had already made that adjustment  - see attached screenshot. But the external sounder still chirps when the system arms, which is why I asked the question, as I thought it might be something else. I note that Siren 5 is not referenced (i.e. not blue) - where do I attach the Away Armed siren.

Siren Type 5 away armed is internally fixed to sound when the system is armed to Away and Exit is required. It need not be assigned to anything
The settings should work. Are you sure the bell is connected to  SRN+ and SRN-?

What is the Comfort firmware version?

It\'s 5.206; I am fairly sure it is correctly wired, but I will check.

I discovered what the problem was with this. Unchecking the Bell in the AwayArmed apparently had no effect, and had me frustratedly checking my wiring etc.

It turns out in the default template, at least the one I used, in the Alarm Types, there is no siren type assigned by default to the SystemArmed alarm. Once I assigned AwayArmed siren to the SystemArmed alarm, the unchecking of \'Bell\' in the AwayArmed siren took effect.

I hope this helps anyone else with the same issue.

Strange, the default alarm type for System  Armed Alarm (No 19) does come without a siren type assigned because it has automatic behaviour

This is how the sirens work when armed

  1. When arming and exit is required, ie local arming to Away Mode, Away Armed Siren Type (5) is called up
  2. When arming and NO Exit is required, ie Night/Day arming or Remote arming or Arming by Time Program, Night Armed Siren Type (16) is used
Could it be that you are arming without exit as described above

Hello,
I\'ve tangled myself up a bit in the various arming methods, siren types and sounds etc.

I have a visonic receiver with 2 outputs connected to 2 zones on Comfort. Output 1/Zone 7 triggers when the disarm button on the visonic keyfob is pressed, output 2/Zone 8 triggers when the arm button is pressed. That bit all works.

What I would like to do is arm or disarm the system from outside the house and have the speaker chirp twice, but not the keypad or bell box). I have assigned the following ON Response to Zone 8 to arm the system (and a similar one to Zone 7 to disarm):-

If SecurityMode=SecurityOff Then
AutoArm AwayMode
End If
Do ArmChirp

Armchip is a different repsonse:-
Siren Off
Siren ArmSpeaker

Siren Type ArmSpeaker references a Sound definition called ChirpLoHi, has a duration of 1.5s and is ticked as priority with Bell Output unticked.

The Sound Type ChirpLoHi is:-
Tone1: 800 Hz
Tone1: 250msec
Tone2: 1200 Hz
Tone2: 250msec
Alternating: yes
Repeat Count: 1

So when I press the button on the keyfob, the speaker chirps, but every other time it misses the beginning of the sound and I only hear Tone 2.

Is this the best way to achieve what I\'m after? I tried just adding Siren Type = ArmSpeaker to the non-detector alarms SystemArmed or Disarmed, but that never worked.

What have I got wrong that the beginning of the sound is chopped of?

... and is there any way to add additional sound or siren definitions? It would be good to add more sounds/tones for \'custom\' functions without messing up the defaults...
