I think you can use the Universal UCM with RS232 interface to control another Comfort with UCM/232

Consider the 2nd comfort or logic engine as a different system
The 1st comfort can send commands to the 2nd one via the Universal UCM

You need 2 UCMs to join them together

You may not realise Comfort can now support 96 zones, instead of 64
You need the latest Comfort firmware and SEM firmware must be upgraded to 6.007 at least. Hence you can add 2 more slaves to a 64 zone system

Brilliant news!!

Can I add a LEM to the 2 extra slaves?

I have 96 zones in comfigurator, so it suggests I can.

Yes, you add 2 more slaves and Lems to go from 64 to 96 zones

Thanks. That solves the inputs and outputs issue.

I just need to solve the keypads problem as I already have 8. . What would happen if I gave 2 keypads the same address. Would they both work?

- slychiu - 10-01-2012

That is a big no-no
Keypads with the same ID will both not communicate
We will see if it is possible to expand the number of keypads

Hi there.

I have 8 normal keypads and have bought a KT03 as I need 9. I thought this could be added as a UCM so I can have a 9th Keypad.

Have I misunderstood that the touch screen keypads can be UCMs instead of being a keypad.

I desperately need to have the 9th keypad working.

- slychiu - 10-27-2013

The KT03 has a keypad ID. It was the old KT01 which was a UCM but that is no longer in production
Technically there is no problem to have more than 8 keypads, but we have not had anyone who needed this before
Hold on to your keypads, we shall discuss if it can be increased

Thank you. It would be brilliant if you could. I also think it would open up the commercial market for Comfort. I used to work in supermarkets and large stores always had about 15 keypads, ie one at every fire exit and entrance.

Hi - is there any update on whether comfort can have more than 8 keypads - I need at least 12 ideally! (Large house)
