Considering I currently have \'Alpha\' and \'Beta\' hardware from 2 very large well known electronic consumer organisations (one of which you will have either used or more than likely have yourself), I would beg to differ ! As I\'m under NDA I cannot mention them, but we are able to assist in the development by reporting issues with the hardware and supporting software, and log and view other participants responses and feedback through a tracking system.

The KP06 will have upgradable firmware, which means the firmware can be upgraded by Comfort, unlike the KP04 and KP03, so if you buy the new KP06 you can upgrade the firmware when there are any changes

I cannot really distinguish them from these \"photos\". Either way, I would prefer a white version, or something that matches a CBUS Saturn DLT glass unit.

You should have few different options. Possibly to make all the covers for easy replacement - modular. You could also have buttons in different colours. To make it simple, have few standard options and have others as optional - per order.

But I suggest the more prominently marked buttons of A, easier to see for those of us without our glasses when we need to turn off the alarm! Perhaps the characters could even be in black for maximum contrast?

Voice station (left module) from C as is had the clearest indicators and vol control
Keypad from A as it has the cleanest look
Surround from B as it is simple and has IR, although white would be prefered.

Would it be possible for the two parts (keypad and intercom)to be framed in such a manner that they will fit into something like an MK Logic plus frame. That way the customer can choose the colour and style of surround to match all other fittings in the property.

Why make a frame at all? If it is being designed to fit into standard 55mm type frames the emphasis should be on making the actual KP06 unit itself styled to suit.
Having a silver KP06 and trying to put it into the popular Gira Stainless Steel frames may look odd if they are not the same colour. You could easily resell frames from many different suppliers but the question of how good the actual KP06 looks within the other frames is most important.
The IR issue could be solved a couple of ways. I would recommend a 3 pin IR header or screw terminals on the KP06. This way the installer could either use a 3rd blank module with just an IR receiver in it or otherwise wire it to a local point in the room with other IR devices for an integrated solution (or both).
A security keypad is often one of the first things people see when walking into a house - there is a real market for ones which actually look good and integrate aesthetically. My view is that having a few colour variant of the KP06 or changable top covers is more important than the frame.
