Due to a system crash and reinstall problems I\'m wondering if it is possible to make Comfort and Homevision, or Homevision XL communicate with each other bidirectionally, but without using ACE.

I have both systems installed and attached to an XP machine via com3 and com4 respectively. I\'m not a software guru but feel that there should be some way of making them talk, but don\'t have a clue where to start!

Any help much appreciated

Just to let other users know, I now have a very good stable interface between Comfort and Homevision.

I am using Homevision XL v2 as written by Schelte Bron. He has very kindly written a small plugin which listens to COM4 and picks up any data transmitted by Comfort, I am then able to process this in HV to do whatever is needed. Conversely I am also able to transmit data to Comfort using the serial protocol.

Highly recomended.

The plug in for Comfort does not seem to be listed in the Homevision XL website http://hv.tclcode.com/ ?

No it isn\'t, Shelte sees it as experimental at this point. If however you contact him via the mail address given on the website, I\'m sure he will send you a beta copy. Please feel free to mention my name.
