Remind me - is this possible ?
I have a wav/mp3/etc - and I want to get this into Comfort to playback when someone presses the doorbell
How can we do this - with a UCM05 with audio board - ie connecting a PC to the line in input on the UCM audio daughter board. Do we record it somehow as a reminder message ??

Yes, use a UCM/Audio with the MIC IN connected to the PC line out. Connect a speaker to UCM Speaker Out so you can hear the menu
Record a reminder message using Wizcomfort keypad emulator in user menu 2,5. Enter reminder number and # key
Press 4 for messages, 1 to record a message. then play your wav file
Press any key to end the recording
Now you can use the action play reminder numer on selected keypad or door station
If you want to play on your door station when someone presses the doorbell, assign the response to Mic Events > Doorbell

Results not good.
I\'ve tried from a PC (line out) and from a Sonos ZonePlayer Lineout (ZP80) - all i get is an awful recording, lots of sssssssssss and noise. very distorted.
ive tried a wav I was trying to use and a FLAC track - so the source is good.
Are there any settings for the recording quality ? its so distorted, you can hardly make out the recording.

The distortion is caused by setting the volume too high.
If you are connecting the audio to the MIC jack the hardware gain is quite high. Reduce the volume of the sound source and reduce the Mic trimmer until there is no distortion, then trim higher until you get acceptable volume without distortion. The recorded level may stil be a little soft
There is also a Line IN input on the terminal block which is meant for LINE rather than Mic. That gain is lower, and you can send a larger signal and keep the trimmer at a higher level. You need to try the various volume and trimmer settings. The distortion and noise you hear is due to saturation of the sound level
The recording level is a bit soft as mentioned, which may be a slight problem which we ae looking into. Soft sounds are more scary..
