Hi

I have comfort panel in my house now about 8 years (installed in 2001 myself), and its been working great. Recently installed a comfort panel in my sister’s house, along with some scs switches and Ethernet port etc, so got a chance to see the improvements that have been made since my initial install, and am a bit jealous, so looking to upgrade.

Current system
Old comfort panel, 8 inputs, two kp01 keypads
UCM01 I believe, with rs232 port

Requirements
24 inputs
Ethernet connectivity with comfigurator/ or comfort webserver
SCS06 x 3

Could anyone advise if this means a complete new main board, or if I can simply upgrade my existing system. Is there any process for upgrading, or deals on upgrade pricing etc, its looking a little pricey :-( although I don’t mind foregoing the cwm for a while.

Also, anyone advise where to buy now, I used to get my HW form www.comfort.org.uk, but any other dealers in uk/irl ?

Regards,
Eamon

Glad to hear from a long time Comfort customer

The new Comfort II PCB is completely different from Comfort I so it cannot be upgraded. You can re-use the metal enclosure and transformer and just get the CM9000-ULT PCB. The ACC-PLATE01 is a metal plate that allows you to mount the pcb on the old enclosure

You should get the UCM05 or UCM/Ethernet as it allows you to upgrade Comfort firmware in future

You can re-use the LEM01 and SEP01 if you already have 24 zones

Comfort Home Controls is no longer a distributor and is not associated with Cytech is any way
The list of distributors in the UK and Ireland are listed here

We dont have an upgrade program yet, but perhaps it is time to work one out

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Can I re-use my exising kp01`keypads also ? Dont have an sep01, so will have to go for an lem03 I think. Also, have ucm01, can I just add eth interface to this, and use with comfigurator or will I have to go and get ucm05/eth ?

So there is hope for an upgrade plan ? Should I wait, or can you tell me more, perhaps even have me as your first customer :-)  It\'l be the 3rd comfort suystem I\'ll be putting in (1 for my sister, and this will be the second in my own house!!)

Eamon

You can reuse the Kp01, except that the intercom with phones and door station will not work too good
LEM03-M2 will add 16 zones
The older UCM01 do not allow you to add the ETH01 module unless there is a 232/485 jumper. It also does not allow firmware upgrades, so a new generation UCM is recommended
Perhaps you can wait a bit for us to work out an upgrade plan with the distributors

As another Comfort 1 user in Ireland, I would be interrested in your upgrade plan.

I am happy to say that the upgrade plan should be out soon, depending on the distributors putting these into their offerings
