- TheMax74 - 09-16-2009 I\'m dealing with italian\'s vocabulary translation and fighting with configuration files. What about a text to speech UCM? This will solve any issue with vocabulary. If not UCM, it may be a microITX pc or something else, attached to comfort. The operating system should be Windows based (here you find a lot of free and paid TTS voices all over the world), or linux based, with \"festival\" tts. It\'s only an idea. Another idea (more affordable) may be to make Comfigurator able to record and manage words, in a simple way, instead of use of VoiceProc. User/installer should be able to record his voice (or customer\'s voice) and apply them to a whole word list, no matter if english, francais, italiano, deutch or someting else. Same way for keypads text. Regards. - ident - 09-16-2009 Thanks for your sugestions I dont believe adding a PC to generate text to speech is justified in terms of the cost. Using TTS words instead of recorded words may be an option if the quality is good enough Bulding in the voice processing into Comfigurator may be a good idea when you wish to change words in the wordlist However the difficult part of what you are doing is to translate the English sentences into Italian and extracting the unique words which would not be helped by the above. Luckily it is something you need to do only once |
