- NickG - 04-27-2010 We have a customer who has a Comfort 1 system which he is reluctant to upgrade. There appears to be a power supply issue with the main board as the 12v on the outputs 1-8 and the 12v outputs for the detectors and KP vary between 2 and 6v, the 12v outputs to the bell box are fine - at around 13.5v There is a LM317T regulator on the board which is outputting 13.5v but I assume there is a second voltage regulator somewhere producing the 12v? Any clues as to where to look? Thanks Nick - admin - 04-28-2010 Ni Nick No, there is not a separate regulator. 13.5 V is the correct voltage which charges the battery. It is not really \"12V\" exactly If the voltage to the Bellbox and Strobe are OK, the problem could be in one of the resettable fuses. Remove all connections to the 12V and see if the volktage recovers. It could be due to excessive current from something external Otherwise check the resettable fuses F7 and F2. There should be no voltage across them. - NickG - 05-18-2010 OK that is sorted - replaced one of the fuses, but more problems..... Outputs 2,4,6 & 8 didn\'t work which wasn\'t a problem as they only needed 4 but now 1, 3, 5 & 9 have stopped working... Any clues? If we can persuade them to upgrade what\'s involved - they have a serial UCM and KP02 do we need to upgrade both of these along with the main PCB? All of this is at least 6 years old? Thanks Nick - admin - 05-19-2010 Nick The outputs fault could be due to the U2 IC which is in a IC socket and can be replaced. ULN2804 I suggest you try this first If they upgrade, the UCM01 should still work but slow in upload and download. KP02 can be a spare one but they will need a KP03 or KP04 |
