- juwi_uk - 01-02-2011 Hi, I upgraded my Zwave UCM to 5.218 and reimport all of my switches. Two problems: 1) One of my switches fails to import via Learn mode though strangly enough another \"Static Controller\" appears at the same time so to me looks like the switch is being wrongly identified? 2) See image below. One switch seems to be reporting OFF/ON (see yellow highlights) on a regular basis even though the light itself is not changing state physically. Help.... Regards Julian - leonchue - 01-03-2011 Hi, Happy new year ![]() 1) \"Static controller\" behaves much like a remote control. It switches devices on or off, via RF. Hence, it has NO wires connected to any devices (eg. lamp to switch on or off). Is this the case for this switch? Otherwise, can you provide more information on this switch? 2) As for the \"double\" reporting, what is the actual status of the device? On? Is the \"final\" status reported correct at all times? Do you have another similar switch to verify if this is the same? It may be the way how the device reports its status when on... Best regards, Leon - juwi_uk - 01-03-2011 Hi Leon, I am using all ACT Homepro switches; the single (ZRW230) and double paddle (ZRM230)varieties. I dont have any seperate static controllers and all are REAL switches. All switches appear OK on LEARN except one. Yes the light is in the correct state, just I get two entries back each time. I have polling set at every 30 secs but they dont seem to line up with those cycles either. Will test some more. Regards Julian - juwi_uk - 01-03-2011 Hi Leon, I did a unit reset on both the switch that was sending the multiple statuses and the one that didn\'t appear during learn cycle. They are both now working fine in Comfort. I\'m starting to think these ACT Homepro switches are a bit unreliable so maybe time to try out some different makes. Regards Julian - bs85 - 01-03-2011 I bought some ACT Homepro Z-Wave devices to test when wanting to move from X10 and have found them not too reliable. The devices do not respond quite often, Could be because there is a Visonic wireless alarm system in use on the same frequency. And now hardware failures, the replacements that i received for some failed switches are now failing. This is with Homeseer and Z-Wave and not Comfort Z-Wave. Now i am going hard wired with Velbus and Comfort. - slychiu - 01-04-2011 Hi Julian Thanks for the detective work. I am glad that you were the one who found the problem and was able to find the cause of it. Otherwise it would have been difficult for us to diagnose it from here. We shall note this as a possible cause for similar problems in future BS85, Velbus is an excellent product, and with a two way interface to Comfort |
