- jbarne41 - 11-01-2012 Hi, Apologies in advance, my tiny brain cannot seem to understand the instructions for Voiceproc. I simply want to replace a few words in the Kate Vocab, i.e Replace Jacuzzi with Stable and Yard with Shed. I cannot see how to get the wav files into DAT the File Directory so they can be seen in Voicpro. Have been trying to work it out using the Myma set of files as I haven\'t got the ones for Kate. I open the Myma36.ini in voicepro followed the instructions but cannot see the word \'Stable \'in the dropdown list under the change user words tab. Stable.wav is present in the Myma_Highpass.wvd Directory but not in the Playdat directory and there is not Stable.dat in the Myma.dat Directory. Can you point me in the right direction as the instructions for the Voiceproc are not easy to understand. Also if I can get it to work on Myma where can I download all the files for the latest Kate. The Comfort website only has the Bin file. Thanks in advance Joules - ident - 11-02-2012 They dont write good instructions. To use VoiceProc, first open an ini file, eg myma36.ini It looks like this VocabNo=05 VocustNo=255 VocSysVer=36 VocUserVer=1 VocTextVer=2 LCDVer=3 WavesDir=myma_Highpass.wvd CompressedDir=myma.dat VCD_Quality=mid VocabularyFileName=myma36.bin SentencesFileName=sentence36.tab LCDFileName=lcdkp_v34.cfg MaxSentenceLength=10 NumOfSysWords=207 SetVol=0.6 TranslationFileName=translat36.tab NumOfUserWords=141 UserFileName=resid36.tab NumOfTables=5 [Tables] Table0FileName=newtab0.tab Table1FileName=newtab1.tab Table2FileName=newtab2.tab Table3FileName=newtab3.tab Table4FileName=number4.tab The user words are in a file specified by UserFileName, which is resid36.tab in the example You can make a new file by copying resid36.tab and making changes to the words you need. resid.tab looks like this 0 WORD_NUL0 NUL0 ;1st word must be NULL 1 WORD_AIRCON Airconditioner 2 WORD_BACK Back 3 WORD_BALCONY Balcony 4 WORD_BASEMENT Basement .. ,, 138 WORD_WASH Wash 139 WORD_WORKSHOP Workshop 140 WORD_PATIO Patio eg if you change 140 to stable, then 140 WORD_STABLE stable you must have a file called stable.wav in the wvd folder in WavesDir, eg WavesDir= myma_Highpass.wvd You can use words from myma or kate if the word is not found in one as substituing a word from another person should not be noticeable in many cases The number of words in the above is 141 so NumOfUserWords=141 You should make a new .ini file and load that in VoiceProc Run VoiceProc and it should give you the error messages if any eg missing files It creates the bin file and a cfg file with the same name as the ini file eg myma36.cfg. This is the wordlist Rename the cfg file to newengwl.cfg and copy to the comfigurator\\config folder We will try to upload the kate files to the website later - jbarne41 - 11-05-2012 Ident, Many thanks for the Response, Have now created my Bin & cfg File, haven\'t uploaded using Configurator yet, just wanted to check a couple of things: 1) I have changed 3 Words - Attic with Stable, Lobby with Shed and Foyer with Barn. The Wav files for theses were already available, will these words be available for the LCD text on the keypad or do I need to do something else to facilitate this? 2) I presume I upload the files into comfort using the Configurator upgrade Vocab option in the Transfer Menu. - If I do get a problem would it simply be a case of uploading the original file to get back to how it was? Regards Joules - ident - 11-05-2012 The new words will automatically be sent to the Keypad LCD You can always revert to the older bin file However the Vocab Upgrade takes more than 20 minutes and may sometimes have an error. You must re do the transfer > Vocab upgrade if this happens - jbarne41 - 11-05-2012 Cheers, Will give it a go tonight and let you know how it goes. Joules - jbarne41 - 11-07-2012 Hi Ident, Many thanks for the help, uploaded the file and all appears to working Ok. Simple when you know how!! Next thing is to record a couple of words which are not in the Kate Wav set and create a new .bin. Maybe posting again later as I still have a couple of outstanding issues from when I upgraded that I never got round to sorting. Cheers Joules - juwi_uk - 11-07-2012 So in order to record new words, are you doing a good Kate impersonation then too, or is Kate going to suddenly switch accents/sex as she reads out a phrase? You can rent yourself out if your impersonations are good and if you team up with a Myma \"sound-a-likey\" then who knows, the sky\'s the limit!
- jbarne41 - 11-07-2012 One job the wife can actualy do....if I ask nicely. ![]() If I try it might sound like Kate has become a docker on 50 fags a day!! ![]() |
