- Orinoco - 11-14-2013 I\'m trying to wire 3 ESP Fireline smoke/heat detectors into my Comfort system and I\'m having a little trouble deciding where to put the resistors. I\'ve looked at the wiring diagram for four wire smoke detectors in the quick installation guide and I believe I can follow it to connect each detector into a separate zone, but I don\'t have enough spare zones to allow that - I need all three connected together into a single zone. I have the optional relay bases for the detectors so I can use the wiring diagram from this 2 page pdf: ESP PSD212 manual I just need to know where to put the 4k7 resistor (or resistors if more than one is needed). Any suggestions? - ident - 11-15-2013 In the attached figure 4, use 2K2 resistor in place of the 1K resistor shown for the series EOL resistor The 4K7 parallel resistor is more tricky. It has to be in parallel to all the contacts It should be connected between the NC terminal of the last detector (conected to the series resistor) and the COM terminal of the 1st detector (connected to ZONE). - Orinoco - 11-15-2013 Thanks for your help, I\'ll give it a go. - juwi_uk - 11-15-2013 Probably a silly question but why bother with EOL at all for alarm zones as surely tamper is less important for these types of zone? Julian - ident - 11-16-2013 It tells you when the wire is broken and gives a zone trouble rather than a fire alarm which may cause everyone to run out of the house |
