- saliaw - 11-22-2013 Last night, after the lightning struck, my keypad light started blinking till now. When I picked up my house phone, there isn\'t any dialing tone, but a voice saying \"phone trouble, please sign in\". I also realized that my phone would not ring when there is a incoming call. When I disconnected (by pass) the phone line to Comfort panel, the phone appeared to be functioning perfectly. Where is the problem part? Appreciate if anyone can help. - Vangelis - 11-22-2013 As a temporary measure, you can disable the \'line-cut\' feature until your phone line is restored. You can do this within Comfigurator - saliaw - 11-22-2013 Thanks for your suggestion. But the by pass test I made concluded that my phone line is ok. So, for long term solution, what shall I do to rectify the problem? - Vangelis - 11-22-2013 Your phone line is \'electrically\' ok but Comfort will also look for the presence of a dial tone (from recollection) and this is your issue. When comissioning my unit, I didn\'t have a phone connected and it was reporting phone trouble - disabling this resolved the issue - saliaw - 11-22-2013 I am so sorry that I do not understand your suggestion. Appreciate if you can tell me what is the part/item that damaged which I need to replace Or what are the actions that I need to do. - ident - 11-23-2013 If your phone works when Comfort is bypassed, I suspect the Comfort TEL IN portion is damaged by the lightning and needs to be repaired or replaced. A Telephone Protector Board TPB is reccommended if your area is susceptible to lightning - saliaw - 11-23-2013 Hi Ident, Thanks for your advice. Can you tell me exactly which part I need to repair? Can you attached a photo of it? How to repair? - ident - 11-23-2013 You need to send the Comfort PC Board back for repair. The board needs to be tested before it can be determined which parts are faulty Please contact your installer or distributor - saliaw - 11-23-2013 I purchased my Comfort system directly from Cytech Singapore and installed it by myself. Can the test be done by myself with your guidance? What are the tools and testing equipment I need? - ident - 11-23-2013 Sorry I am afraid it is not feasible to repair it by yourself It needs equipment like osciiloscope, multimeter, functional tester, and circuit diagrams There maybe several parts damaged not just 1 I suggest you send it back to Cytech |
