- strickers - 09-18-2016 Hi, I have recently lost my current cclx file due to a HDD failure. I had used the file backup service provided by Cytech but has been a while since backed this file up. I am hoping I can still use the one backed up and look at the changes to have a up to date file. At this point I thought it might be a good idea if Comfigurator allowed you to \'login\' to your Cytech account and then gave you the option of also backing up the file to cytech automatically. This could be an option during the normal saving locally process? I understand people might be just testing something or may not want to save all the time but the option would be good. Knowing you have a current file always backed up would give piece of mind. Thanks - slychiu - 09-18-2016 The file backup service is not on the \"cloud\" It is on your own computer at C:Users(user)AppDataRoamingCytechComfiguratorbackup if your Hard disk was corrupted you may ior may not be able to restore it The space required for each cclx is quite small about 1MB but it may bedome large over time. You can purge the unneeded files from time to time I think if you give the option to turn off the backup, many people will not use the bacup and may lose their files Info on the automatic backup is found at http://www.comfortforums.com/view_topic.php?id=4504&forum_id=20&jump_to=20753#p20753 - strickers - 09-18-2016 Hi slychiu, So when I login to the cytech website and \'upload\' my cclx file, this is only storing the file locally? - slychiu - 09-18-2016 Oops, crossed wires Yes when you log in to the website you are saviing on our server. I forgot about this I was referring to the local automatic backup on Comfigurator I see what you mean Are you able to restore a more recent backup from your PC or was the while drive not accessible - Swiss-Toni - 09-19-2016 You can also do a read from Comfort itself, but you lose all the names in the file but these can be written back in once you have got the file back. - juwi_uk - 09-19-2016 Maybe it should always give you a popup dialog once the upload to Comfort is complete to ask if you want to also sync to cloud storage. That way you wouldnt forget to do. Ju |
