The IRM01 is a right pain to mount on any controllable device - so perhaps the IR02W is a better fit ? - Guest - 09-07-2007 The IR02W is meant for shorter distances as compared to the IRM01. Moreover the IR02W is smaller in size, which would fit those using IR to control air-conditioners. - Guest - 09-07-2007 Just to add on to my earlier post, you may like to refer to the manual: http://www.cytech-technology.com/temp/irm01man.pdf . - palmlodge - 09-07-2007 looks like a winner - never knew they existed ! - ident - 09-08-2007 The IR02W has a flat side-looking surface suitable for sticking onto flat surface receivers while the IR01W has a round surface with a 45 degree viewng angle The IRM01 is a transmitter on a PCB. The only advantage is greater range, about 5 meters is possible and there is resettable fuse protection against damage to teh LED when you continuously turn on the output. The IR01W and IR02W have low current limits so they are not damaged by continuous voltage - agenor - 11-03-2011 Is there a maximum cabling distance for IRW01/02, IRM01 and IRD01? For the IRR (receivers) I found the spec in RIO manual that it\'s max 100 m using separate Cat5 cable. But it says nothing about IR transmitters. Is it also 100 m? - ident - 11-04-2011 The cabling distance for IRM01 and IR01W, IR02W is at least 100 meters The IR transmitter leds are driver by current so as long as the resistance is not high compared to the series resistor of several hundres of ohms then the distance is no problem The importamt thing if running a long distance is shielding if possible or run away from other cables carrying current to aovid interference Do not run more than 1 IR signal in the same CAT 5 cable - agenor - 11-04-2011 Thanks! |
