- wexfordman2 - 01-07-2008 Hi,   I am installing a comfort system for a relative (she saw my onw system at home and wanted same, although mine is about 6 years old now!!). Thing is she has a B&O system throughout the house, and she uses B&O multifunction remote controls. What I wanted to do, was to use program up the B&O remote to control comfort. My first and main question relates to getting the IR back into comfort. My basic underestanding, is the Beovision TV, has IR emmiters to attatch to external (non b&o) equipment, and I was planning on using one of these emmitters to feed back into comfort. My main question would be, what is the recommneded way of wiring IR receive into Comfort. I dont quite get the idea of the keypad IR funcitonality, as keypads are normally near an exit door, so not the kind of place you would have a remote (I know I am missing something basic here, so apologies). Would it be possible for me to wire the IR emmitter from the B&O  to comfort, and if so, would I wire it to the keypad, or would it be best going to the panel ?   Regards, Wexfordan - hendy - 01-08-2008 [color=\"blue\"][color=\"black\"]Unless your B&O remote is universal remote control type which is able to learn other\'s IR signals (in this case comfort\'s remote control), I\'m afraid you can\'t control comfort from your B&O remote. The other way round is possible. [/color][/color]You can try to learn the B&O IR signal using UCM05 and use comfort to control the B&O devices instead. See the previous post: http://www.comfortforums.com/forum4/855.html While most IR signals can be learnt using this UCM05, note that some IR signals can\'t be captured or encoded by the software algorithm or used by Comfort because of limitations in the encoding system.[color=\"blue\"] [/color]IR receiver is normally wired to the board\'s input pin and the IR transmitter is wired to the output pin. You can have up to 8 keypads per system so you place one near an exit door and others as you deem as strategic location for remote control to beam the IR signal. The B&O remote is a universal type remote (it currently controls sky box and a non b&o dvd player), so I was thinking of adding  an additional non b&o device to the remote and using this device to control comfort as you said.   Regards, Wexfordman
