I can se a time stamp with a number at end 
I can see a C< or C> to represent a transmit or receive
I can see a (I presume) a hex code in the message box

I am unable to connect using the USB cable.

In settings there is no pull down menu to indicate a USB found and in the serial no line its just 'blued out' I cannot type anything.

If I go transfer system information then I get a small window appear
"error opening USB port:  FT_INVALD_HANDLE

If I remove the cable then it says: FT_DEVICE NOT FOUND

 - Set at 9600 bits per second
 - Parity : none
 - Stop bits: 1
 - Flow control: none

Under events this must have happened in the background ! : "Driver Management has concluded the process to add Service FTSER2K for Device Instance ID FTDIBUS\VID_0403+PID_6001+AH00SBLYA\0000 with the following status: 0."

Or as I wont be there I can get someone else to re[place it, my panel has no anti tamper on it and actually easy to access the battery.   So is it a simple matter of swapping or is there more to it. I ran into problems - I downgraded to ULTA 7.252.   SCS still didn't work, but found I was then unable to upgrade again to 8.034.  I got a message to say that the firmware did not match the system type.

after a reset the CM9001/A no longer responds - ONLY the right hand red LED of the bank of 4 LEDs is lit (ID0?), ie to the immediate right of the ALM LED.

I am assuming either the board is faulty or the FW is corrupted.    I then tried to upgrade with the firmware upgrade cable, but noted that a CM9001/A needs a UCM/USB and not ETH03.

Since I don't have a USB module I will have to order one, though Laser do not appear to have them in stock.  Before I order one on back-order through them please could you help me with advice on whether you think this is likely to work or is this CM9001/A faulty?]]>
