Hi,
I have three PSU01 devices each with a battery. Yesterday Comfort started to complain and I discovered that one of the PSU01s was showing a red light - low battery.
I have replaced the battery and everything is back to normal. However, I have noticed that all three of the LP1, LP2 and LP3 bulbs on that particular PSU01 appear to be black. On the other two PSU01 devices, I can see that the bulbs have clear glass.
That is making me wonder whether there is a problem with this PSU01 which has caused the three bulbs to blow (the black colour maybe suggests that too).
If I am likely to be right, is there something that I can do to replace the three bulbs myself?
Thank you and hope everyone is well - it has been a while!
Cheers,
Nick

Is there a simple version history for Comfort 1 available?
We have a number of ICs for \'Outside\' and one labelled \'M4.83\' but we\'re not sure how the Comfort1 versions relate to each other.
Also, what U4 ICs are compatible with each version if we ever have to change them.

I know, I know.....You will say \'upgrade these systems to Comfort2\' (or is it Comfort3 now?) but sometimes the most cost effective method is to keep the original system running.

Hi,

I\'ve got an old Comfort I system. The main PCB has a chip labelled “Outside 4.169” A006166. The slave SEP modules have a chip labelled First 4.164. The SEP PCB is SM0223.

I\'ve noticed that when arming or disarming the S12V connection on the SEP does not switch off, whereas it does on the main CPU. I suspect this might have always been happening. Both SEPs exhibit the same the problem, so I don\'t think it\'s a faulty PCB.

I found in the forum that there may be a jumper that needs removing (J7). I removed that, pressed the SEP reset button and tried again, but no luck. Have I got the right jumper?

I know it\'s a very old system but as it\'s functioning perfectly other than this, I\'m reluctant to upgrade it.

Any ideas?

Kind regards,

Hi,my comfort panel has started calling me to tell me of a tamper fault. How do I determine what the fault is, because it doesn\'t tell me ? Can I find out through the door keypad, or do I need to plug the pooter in through the ucm ?Should this be listed in the event log ?

It\'s bizarre, it now seems to do it every few weeks, and generally at or about 11:30.
Our system has a bunch of movement sensors, a couple of door sensors, and a remote panel with door and movement sensors for the outbuildings. Plus a door bell button and x 10 module, but I assume they aren\'t the issue.
Any pointers as to how best to narrow down what to look at would be great.
Many thanks, John.
p\'s, as side from this it works a treat

This comprises:

Comfort 1 Ultra, Firmware Action 4.22, File System 24
UCM01/Ethernet RS232 Type 10, Firmware Version 5.063
I have this running with Comfigurator Version 3.9.5
It is running as an alarm system with minimal programming of responses
I am looking to upgrade this system to enable me to utilise the Android App and to provide future reliability.
From the information I can find on this forum it looks as if all the above components will need to be replaced. Is this correct?

Hi probably bit a noob question(s) but I\'ve got an old Comfort 1 Pro and recently added a UCM/USB to it. Using Win7 on parallels on a 2014 MacBook Pro with Yosemite. Good news is I managed to get Comfigurator 3.9 downloaded and connected.

Selective Read and Selective Write throw an exception. I can of a full read and a full write and it seems to process OK. However, not all the fields are updated - for example Names for PhoneNumber1 & 2 didn\'t write but updated battery check to 48hrs from 24hrs wrote OK. Tried all options to write the user signIns but it doesn\'t seem to work. I\'m trying to change or read the Engineer code and can\'t change it plus it is encoded so I can\'t read it.

It would also appear that the firmware uses FileSystem 17 and Comfigurator3.9 is using FileSystem 18.

Any suggestions on what I need to change upgrade (software wise) to be able to edit? ..... upgrading all the hardware is not a runner right now.

cheers

I am trying to get the announce words response to work but it does not seem to work on my setup. Is this not compatible with comfort 1 ultra?
I assume it may not be as it was not an option in the response actions in early versions of comfigurator.

System:
Comfort 1 Ultra
Firmware:4.227
File:24
UK Residential Vocab
Comfigurator V3.5.6.0

Clarification would be appreciated.

We have a lot of comfort installations that we look after and maintain.
Many of them are Comfort 1 installations.
We made a policy some years ago of upgrading the files wherever possible from the old .ccl to the new .cclx so that everything we \'as up to date as it could be\'.
This policy has worked well BUT is now showing serious flaws!
The \'new\' format does in some way stabalise the old C1 boards, not so many odd things happen and we have never had a problem in upgrading and downloading a file.
HOWEVER over the past few months it has become apparent that adding components is \'fine\' BUT adding anything other than the most simple program turns into a nighmare. Basically when using Comfigurator 3 you have NO WAY of knowing which functions work with C1 and which don\'t and even the ones you think should work like simple \'announce\' commands fail to work.
Its time for us as an installation company to stop adding any further programming to Comfort 1 boards - the time spent testing things that do not work could be far better spent in replacing with an upgrade board.
I feel the same goes for the iphone app - we find that several of our customers have added iphone apps to their C1 systems which is great BUT its all about expectations and well iphone app and C1 is a place we will not go!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Perhaps it time for Cytech to be definitive about older C1 boards and to say that they are unable to support programming with Comfigurator 3 and that only Comfigurator 2 should be used with C1 boards.

Hi,
My old Comfort 1 system is still going strong but after some advice.
Currently the versions I have are
UCM : 5.13.1
Panel: 4.144,40,18
File Sys : 18
Vocab : 2
UCM: type 1 vers : 5.013

Are the above the most up to date for my system?
Also what comfort is it a Pro, Entry or Ultra?

I\'m currently using version 2 of comfigurator, would it be of any benefit going to version 3 and if so what version.

Are there any recommendations that you would also offer?
Many thanks,

Hi,

I have recently started having some problems with both the battery charging and telephone side (post lightning event) on my first generation system. It seems to me from what I have read that an upgrade is now in order.

Afraid I may be repeating here previous queries but it would be good to have some comment on my particular circumstances.

The main system was installed in 2001 with the equipment being purchased from the UK supplier in February of that year. An expansion was carried out in 2007 with the SEP addition.

2001 main equipment
•Main Unit 8001/E with Outside 4-109 firmware
•1 x LEM
•RGR01
•UCM (RS232)
•3 x KP02
•2 x DS01

2007 expansion
•SEM
•2 x KP03

I think that once I know the hardware that needs replacing my remaining concern is porting the software across. I have lost the original well annotated program but do have my paper notes/design and a version I downloaded a while back with Comfigurator 1.6. as a CCL file but would like to take a further download to be sure it is correct. What should I use if not the latest version and to what system should it be set to do the download i.e. will the latest Comfigurator work Ok? How should I then go about converting/transferring to the new system?

Is the new main module physically similar i.e. will fit in the original box?

As my house is well served by wired ethernet and I would like to upgrade the UCM to Ethernet does this require a completely new module?

Who is the authorised UK distributor now? It’s a bit unclear to me.

Thanks for any help

Hi all,

I have had to change the bell box on my comfort 1 alarm and have tried fitting the above bell box and with somewhat noisy results.

The connections available are:-

STB- which I have connected to STR-
TRIG- which I have connected to SRN-
HOLD OFF- (also referred to as tamper supply) which I have connected to Tamper 0V
HOLD OFF+ which I have connects to SRN+
RTN- which is have connected to TR tamper return

Now having re read the manual a few times this evening I think I have identified the following things I need to revisit but would be grateful for input.

1.) HOLD OFF+ should actually be connected to 12VF instead.
2.) 1K ohm resistor between negative trigger and +12V hold off
3.) need to use engineer mode to make sure I am not triggering from tamper circuit.

Anything obvious I have missed or wired up incorrectly?

Thanks

Have a Comfort System utlising: Panel (8001/E); RGR03; KP02; KP03-WI; DP01.
I have recently noticed that when I receive a telephone message and listened to it, the flashing LED doesn\'t go off. Even deleting all saved messages does not clear the LED.

Is this a programming issue?

Thanks,
