I am just about to upgrade an old SEM to a new SEM.

Before I do that I wanted to check the error that has just occurred.

On keypad I had battery warning and then slave 1 - I've (again) tried to attach the event log file but get cannot upload this file type so have forwarded it to your e-mail.

If you look in the event log you will see that we have a series of coms failures - it possible this may have all kicked off when they had a power cut a couple of weeks ago ( i called in them and had to power everything down to get it all to come good system reset on keypad or manually just kept rebooting into a fault state.

If the charging circuit has failed what should the LED be doing ? Currently solid D14 (green).

I have an old CBUS UCM (square chip type)
From my understanding it acts as a translator so you can send a CBUS address to CBUS via the CBUS UCM and visa versa

I have a client with a large number of CBUS commands coming into Comfort from external external CBUS switches to operate blinds (that are wired via comfort).

I have just changed the old UCM for the new UCM and now nothing works either way. Am I to assume that the latest UCM 2 is NOT performing a direct translation and that anything that is already programmed will have to be re-programmed to be incorporated into the CBU UCM menu structure ?

We had some brief thunderstorms overnight, at one point there was a very loud crash and then we had a 20 second power cut and Comfort started beeping and complained of Slave Communication Failure.

I received an SMS with the alarm code for "Slave Tamper"

My ETH03 also lost network presence from that point (normally I have a Home Assistant system that receives live Comfort activity via a python script so I know it was working up until that moment).

Some odd things are now happening. Here's what I've done so far in order:

Signed in to keypad (connected to Comfort Master unit) and did engineer reset 7.4.2 to reboot the system.

Keypad said WRONG TEXT PRESS *1 TOGETHER (and also mentioned a download failure)

Then it alarmed and said Slave comms failure. Also received an SMS (the backup one that can be configured for use in event of comms failure)

Left it until morning - noticed keypad connected to Slave also had the WRONG TEXT message. Acknowledged that.

Powered off Master (mains and battery) and back on.

It alarmed and said Slave comms failure. Acknowledged on keypad

Powered off Slave (mains and battery) - main unit alarmed and complained about slave comms failure. Acknowledged that

Restarted Slave.

Keypad (connected to slave) said WRONG TEXT PRESS *1 TOGETHER

This has NOT resolved my issues. The ETH03 is lit up and seems normal but I cannot ping it. Everything else on my network is functioning normally.
Comfort is sending SMS messages as normal (e.g. when I open a gate)
Comfort is NOT playing voice messages on the keypad - e.g. "MAIN GATE OPENED"

Slave and Master are located in the same building (a normal 4-bed house), one at front, one at rear of building, connected by CAT5E cable.
ETH03 is in the Master unit.

Point 7 above implies the connection between Master and Slave panels IS okay?

Any suggestions how to diagnose or go forwards given that the ethernet connection is no longer working?

Initial I thought it was a faulty PIR, as it was at some point the PIR next to the keypad upstairs, but I have seen over some time that other PIRs that have occupancy at arming do the same.
I have an ULTRA panel. Was about to get version info and just realized that the firewall is now blocking Comfigurator on my old PC and I cannot load it on my MAC.

I used Comfort I for about 20 years between 1999 and 2020.If ever (rarely) there was anything strange I could always trace it back to one of the sensors getting wild. Comfort I has always been a rock solid dependable friend. And so has been with Comfort II (until now), since I upgraded 4 years ago by now.
Recently I was surprised just minutes I left home to travel for a period out-of-home by an alarm reporting almost all window/door or movement detectors.

I had to return back home and found that the wireless systems were down - no power was beeing fed to them from Comfort 12v.

The rest of the system was working perfectly normal as much as I could receive the alarms on my phone and interact with it to switch it to \"security off\" remotely. Resetting Comfort did not return power to the Wireless sensors.
Only by switching off-on power did the Wireless systems got power back.
As I had to proceed with my interrupted travel I left home with the system armed again to AWAY mode. It \"looked\" normal and I had to leave and so I did not go after further details.

Since this ocurrence the system became unstable generating random alarms by several sensors, and, still out of home I had to switch back to \"security off\".
Getting back home and going about my life I had no time to get back imediatly after the problem and kept it under \"security off\" mode for some days.
During this time I was \"surprised\" to hear some door/windows chimes related to false window/door activation and one more episode of lights-out for the wireless system which had to be recovered again with a Comfort power off-on.

So, yesterday I managed to have some time to go and do some troubleshooting, if possible.

My Comfort system is a CP9000 Ultra with a Local Expansion Module 16x inputs, UCM/ETH3, 3x KP04 and one RLY01H. I use one Comfort OUTPUT and one RLY01 relay to drive the ARM state of a AJAX Wireless system together with a Visonic MCR-308 fro some sensors (leftover from Comfort I).

This configuration has been working flawlessly for the last 4 years. Each Wireless system has a MAX drain of 25mA, so well well below the 1A Comfort can supply to connected sensors. I took 12v to feed both systems from the OUTPUTs 12v supply.

My guess: The power off events of the wireless systems look like a circuit crowbar of the Comfort 12v - If so I cannot explain how the rest of the Comfort system was responding up to call me on the phone and reacting to commands.

Measures taken with my digital multimeter (yesterday):

14v AC supply - OK (around 14-14.5)
12v supply close to the zones - around 13.5DC BUT with 29 AC positive
12v supply close to OUTPUTs - 12.5DC BUT with 26-27 AC positive

My guess: I have no other input or whatsoever connection to any other AC source other than the Comfort supply.
The overposition of an AC component over the 12v supplies given by Comfort can only be due to a malfunction to the 12v DC regulating circuitry in Comfort (29 =14.5 x 2).

This AC component seems to be tolerated by both wireless systems but can explain the instability and randomness of sensor activation.
DC regulating circuitry seems to be part of the CP9000 motherboard.

Am I doomed ?
Let me know your thoughts.Thank you.

I have a CM9000 (firmware 7.201) with a LEM01-M2.

Initially there were three SEMs attached (all firmware 7.207) with the first and second SEMs being the older SEM01-M2 boards and the last one being a new SEM01C (but with the old SEM01-M2 power supply board). The first one has a LEM01-M2 but not yet the 2nd or third. Each of the four locations has it\'s own AC power supply and battery all have 0VDC commoned.
The problem with the above configuration was zone troubles on the zones of the 2nd SEM01-M2 - jumpers are set for no EOL resistors. I\'ve removed the cables and have directly connected switches for testing but the problem persists. The zone announcements appear to be working correctly but the zone trouble is also announced. I have not yet configured the last SEM (other than setting the ID to 3). If I bypass these zones, the zones are no longer announced, but the trouble announcements still occur.

I then replaced the first SEM01-M2 with a new SEM01C (but also with an old SEM01-M2 power supply board) and set it\'s ID to 2. The problem persists. Further, on this new SEM01C, the \"Use Shunts\" setting is the default and cannot be changed. The last SEM (also SEM01C) correctly shows \"No EOL\".
All SEMs are being polled but the 2nd & 3rd ones are reporting the Serial Number as \"Invalid\" while the first one reports \"Unassigned\". And the trouble zones appear to be correctly showing Active or Inactive.

This has me rather stumped and I\'d appreciate any advice.

We have found a problem on some CM9001 systems with the J3 10 way connector for ETH03 or Wifi01 submodules. The symptom is Comfort fals to start up, and resets itself every 20 seconds. The problem may be seen on some systems if there is NO plug in wifi01 or ETH03 submodule.

The wporkaround is simply to plug in one of the EOL resistors 2.2K or 4.7K between Pin 1 and Pin 7 as shown in the photo below. If the EOL resistors are not availabkle, any resistor fromn 1K to 10 Mohm can be used. he value is not important.

Please switch off the CM9001 system before doing this resistor insertion. If you need to use a wifi or ETH03 plug in in future, you can remove the resistor

It is recommended that the resistor be inserted even if there are no signs of the problem, to prevent it occuring in future

Hi.

I am having trouble setting up my Comfort 2Z Ultra. I have firmware version 7.153. I don\'t have a more updated version because I have problems with the KP04 keyboards when I update, because it does not give indications through them through the keyboards.

The problem is that I have configured the zones in Alert mode and despite this, as soon as one of these zones is activated it creates an immediate alarm, so I cannot use this function and I have many false alarms.

Is there a report on this? Any solution?
Thank you.
