I'm out of the country currently and my wife advises me the alarm is bleeping every so often with an error "battery Warning Controller".
I'm guessing the battery need replacement. Can you advise if its a simple matter of unplugging the old and replacing with new ot you do need to tell the system youve changed it. Can it wait two weeks for my return? Or as I wont be there I can get someone else to re[place it, my panel has no anti tamper on it and actually easy to access the battery. So is it a simple matter of swapping or is there more to it. THanks for advice.

There is a corresponding voltage drop pulse seen on the 12v supply, approximately 1v drop around 300mSec duration. I have isolated the supply to the PIRs and vibration sensors but the chirp remains. The voltage dip is still seen if the bellbox is disconnected.

Hi, my alarm went off at 4:00am last Thursday and woke me out of a deep sleep. In my rush to turn it off I managed to stub my toe on the edge of a door, leading to much swearing . Anyway, the keypad was showing trouble on Zone 16 - an outside gate sensor. I bypassed the zone and disabled the alarm.

Over the weekend I investigated the problem. I disconnected the zone connector and checked the loop resistance which was 2.2k with the gate closed and 6.9k with it open and I confirmed that the EOL jumper was in the correct position. Cycling the power for the alarm didn't fix it, so I tried a full write from PC -> Comfort and then COMFORT -> UCM EEPROM. This cleared the Zone Trouble alarm but I'm concerned that it may happen again.

Any thoughts on what might have caused it?

A few months back my original LEM board stopped working after a high voltage found its way onto one of the outputs which stopped the output driver board from functioning. As a temporary fix I removed the output driver board and the inputs continued to work normally.

I could not order a new output driver board so I ordered a new LEM01B which I fitted for the first time today. So far I have plugged in the inputs but not the ouputs.

The system tells me that I have Zone Trouble on zones 9, 10 and 11.

These three zones all connect to internal doors which are used for non-alarm purposes (indicating when parts of the house are accessible to pets for example) so I do not think they were ever fitted with EOL resistors.

I am running comfigurator 4. In Zones/Inputs the EOL column says 'Use Shunts' for all zones, but the drop down menu does not allow this to be changed.

Do I now have to add EOL resistors to these zones to make them work, even though they are set to 'SwitchNC' since I cannot change the jumper settings manually? If this is the cause of the problem can I fall back to an earlier version of comfigurator that lets me change this setting?

If my guess above is wrong, is there an alternative obvious explanation for the problem I am having please? I have spent a few hours searching on this forum withou any success so far.

Thanks

I looked at the PIR it referenced as the problem and found a cctv cable had come undone and was hanging in front of the sensor. Ideal I thought, tidied away the cable, the sensor went from red light to clear. So I input my user code but the fault is still there. I have also used engineer code followed by 7,4,2. I ideally dont want to update the cclx as i\'m not 100% certain I have the latest, but will try if thats likely to resolve.

HiI am hearing a beep every minute that I think is coming from Comfort. it may be related to some zones acting as fire and CO alarms but I am seeing no messages trigged in the keypad. I can\'t tell as all the devices are physically close together! I see no error lights on any of the devices and have removed the CO and smoke detectors leaving some relays and am still getting a beep and have replaced the batteries on the smoke detectors.
Any ideas?Thank you

I have Comfort Mother Board number A017826 (it has it\'s other half C097167) This board has the 8 output sub board plugged into it, with an 8 pin chip ULN2803A soldered onto it.
3 of the outputs have stopped working, so I can only assume the output IC has failed on this sub board?
Can you tell me if this plug in sub board can be ordered as a replacement and what is the official description of the module? I would have a go at replacing the 8 pin IC, but there are several other components very close to it
Many thanks Graham

I still have a Comfort 1 (yes, I know, time to change!).
All of a sudden I have heard the keypad announcing \"Communication Failure 81\". I can\'t find any reference to \"81\" in the various documents which talk about SEM, LEM etc - so I am hoping someone can shed some light on where I need to look.
It may be related, or maybe not, but I have always had zones 1 and 5 configured to announce when they are activated. They are both zones on the main board, of course. At the moment, I hear the announcement for zone 5, but not for zone 1.
Any thoughts would be very welcome.
Thanks,

I’ve recently had a situation where a particular zone went into trouble mode. So I disabled it via Comfigurator.

My Comfort installer took a look yesterday but we couldn’t find any problems. He thinks it’s the LEM03 Local Expansion Module because the failing zone was on that board. The testing, refitting connectors, touching it, etc, seemed to ‘fix’ the problem, until a few hours later when three more zones (also on the LEM03) went into continuous trouble mode, despite Comfort being in Security Off mode as I was home.

At this point the internal and external sirens are going. If I typed in my code the sirens would stop only momentarily before picking up again. Scenes! Absolute chaos inside!! It’s hard to think with Comfort screaming at me from every source - keypad, phone, sirens, etc.

I tried to enter the engineer menu so that I could got into security test mode, hoping that would calm all the sirens. But I simply could not manage it. I’d enter my user code, then try to enter the engineer menu before the sirens kicked off again and Comfort keypad would just beep at me. I could not hear what it was saying over the noise of the sirens. It was hopeless, and I gave up trying to access the engineer menu at this point.

Eventually I got Comfigurator up - I had to sit through Windows updates, what a horrifically timed nightmare! - and was eventually able to DISable the zone inputs by changing the zone type to blank, then upload a new configuration. We’re going to change the LEM03 board next.

But my question is: how should I have handled this zone trouble situation? What can I do immediately from the keypad to calm Comfort down? So that I know how to better cope next time around.

Wired as follows Red to plus, Black to minus, Blue to NC, White to T, resistor across the blue and white termination, second resistor across the empty NC to T. (This is following the wiring of the original PIR and more or less the Bosch instructions). Comfort was reset. The PIR recognizes movement via the LED. Comfort does not recognize it, no error in the log. No movement is reported on Control Panel test. Should Comfort recognize this model PIR? Can you suggest anything?

Some time ago the exterior flashing blue light stopped working. Then, recently the exterior Siren failed but the interior siren was OK. I purchased a blue light and a siren. I am too old to get up on a ladder, so I got a good handyman to replace both the blue light and siren. The blue flashing light now works, the siren does not. The handyman is sure he replaced wire for wire. How can I test the siren for connectivity from the Configurator? Any assistance would be appreciated. I don\'t have a local installer available.
