RIO in Comfigurator 3.14.10

If you have RIOs in a cclx file and you upgfrade to Comfigurator 3.14.10, please do File >Update Defaults. Otherwise your RIO outpyts will not be recognised. Please notre that RIOs have not been in production for 10 years at least so this applies to maintenence of old systems only

Using RIO as an alarm extension!

I know this is a convoluted way of creating an alarm function using a RIO but due to an inability to lay further wiring to an out building, would it be possible to connect an output of a RIO directly to a zone in comfort or would I have to use a relay from the RIO output to create a Zero voltage contact to connect to the Zone:
1) Preferred sequence: Sensor to RIO input. (secondary) RIO output to a Zone

2) Alternative sequence: Sensor to RIO input, (secondary) RIO output to a relay, relay to a Zone

This would be done on a Comfort 9000

I have towel rails in my bathrooms which are connected to the central heating (independent system) but they also have an immersion heater for summer use. This part is controlled by Comfort.

I\'m trying to improve my controls as I can\'t detect if the central heating is on and whether to enable the immersion heater or not.

I was looking to sense the mains signal voltage from the specific central heating circuit (it is multi zone) but I can\'t seem to find a simple means of achieving this.
A simple 220V relay connected to a RIO input seems like the solution but I can\'t find such a device.

I would prefer to purchase a simple unit rather than creating my own.
Surely someone else has had such a need and has a simple solution to offer?

I have noticed with RIO01 it does not have a OP1 board and wonder what protection it has or what part would be replaced instead of the OP1 if it Burns out!

Hi,
I have RIO connected very closely to comfort main motherboard and have UCMs and RIO connected via the 4 way headers. The RIO is the last in the chain. Distance <0.5 metre
In configurator it scans and finds all UCMs and SCSRIO.
The IRD01 is connected to the RIO via CAT6 shielded.
I have used 3 twisted pair for red, blue and yellow and connected outputs 1 and 2
I have used one pair and split green and green/white pair for the green and black RIO input 1
as per the photograph.
In configurator I have set IRCODE01 to device Microsoft MCE and operation to guide.In Events and Reponses I have set Response1 useing the wizard to IR Code to IRCODE01 and send to SCSRIOOUTPUT129. I also tried output1
Whether i take shunts QR off or put them back, I do not see the LED flash when execuring the response.
What have I done wrong?

I am playing around with RIO and IR remote commands and I noticed that I have used IR command 0 but the \"Show References\" is empty but the graphical references shows the actual links. Also the text is not in blue.

can be connected multi IR receiver module IRD01 in same input and output i mean when send signal i wanted send signal in all area then i wanted connected all transmitter and receiver to same input and output

RIO to control a PIR's power supply

Hello again,

I have another question, this time regarding RIO and the PIR power supply.
In one room (i.e. bedroom), I would like the PIR to be completely disabled (not powered) during the night.
One reason is that we would like to avoid extra \"wave\" emissions (with dual technologies PIR) and that we don\'t want te be bothered by the PIR LEDs during the night. Besides as we are in the room, there is no need to check for presence.

To achieve this, would it be possible to plug one end of the PIR supply to the +12V of Comfort, and the other end to an output connector of the RIO ?
In that way, I would like the RIO output to be open when in \"night mode\", so that the PIR won\'t be powered (and that zone would also be disabled to avoid a zone trouble warning).

As the power supply for the PIR is Comfort itself, I don\'t think I need something like a reed relay module... the RIO output could do the job.
But I might be totally wrong, I\'m no electrician, so any advise would be appreciated !

Same IR code on different receivers; different responses possibility?

I know it may seem useless but, assume two receivers connected to two separate RIO inputs, can we assign different responses for the same IR code depending on which IR receiver has received the code? say same key on RC01.
I\'m looking for a way to do this: in a building with many doors, each door can be opened only if the person is in front of it pressing a key on RC. and from there none of the other doors could be opened.

Each RIO Module has 8 Input/ and Output points. Up to 15 RIO Modules can be connected to a Comfort II ULTRA system providing a further 120 non-alarm inputs and 120 outputs.

RIO Input functions;

receives Comfort IR codes (with the same function as the KP03/KP04 IR receiver) from the RC01 remote control or universal learning remote controls like Philips Pronto or Ligitech Harmony to trigger Comfort Responses. Infrared Receiver modules (IRR01) or the IRD01 IR Dome must be connected to the input to receive IR signals.
receives X10 IR codes from the X10 UR24 RF/IR Remote control or Philips Pronto to activate X10 codes directly.
Receives CBus2 IR codes from the Clipsal 5088TX handheld IR remote control (8 buttons, 4 sets A,B, C, D)
accepts a switch contact (or digital 5V logic level signal) to trigger Responses when the contact is opened and/or closed.
RIO Inputs cannot be used for alarms, they will not trigger alarms.

RIO Output functions;

Provides digital 12V/0V open collector outputs
Drives LEDs (with a series resistor) for indication purposes.
Transmits Infrared remote (IR) control signals by connecting an Infrared LED transmitter (IRM01, IR01W, IR02W)
Drives 8 reed relays on the RLY02 module to provide dry contacts for external triggering or 4 relays on RLY01.

These inputs and outputs are not part of the 96 Inputs and 96 Outputs of the Comfort Control panel, LEMs and SEMs. They are numbered as input/output 129 to 248.
