We were first made aware of it when the homeowner called in a panic because he couldn\'t disarm his system. He was standing in his hallway with all the bells and whistles making a right royal racket, and no matter how carefully he tried to enter the user code it simply would not register the correct digits. When any of the digits was pressed the screen would register an entirely different digit instead and it was not consistent either...sometimes it would register the correct digit and sometimes not, but never enough times to get the whole user code to register.

Thing didn\'t improve after a firmware upgrade either.

When we tried to calibrate them guess what....we couldn\'t! every time it ended with a \'Fail\' message. We ended up using a watchmakers screwdriver as a stylus in order to press EXACTLY in the centre of the cross hairs on the calibration screen (but it still took a couple of attempts).

Did this solve the issue? NO IT FLIPPIN\' WELL DIDN\'T!

Did anything improve at all? Ah well, yes I suppose it did.........a bit.......(reluctantly).

What we had to do is....
Replace the actual touchscreen component in the worst unit and now it seems to be more reliable; it now registers the whole correct user code about 5 times in every 6 attempts but you have to be quite accurate about where you press the digits and be careful about how quickly you enter the code (leave about 2 thirds of a second between digits.)

The others are a little better now but you have to be even more precise when pressing the keys and the whole correct code is registered in about 2 out of 5 attempts.

Has anyone else had issues that compare to this?

Could this be due to \'wear and tear\'? because I would hope these units would stand up to more than 10 months of use in an ordinary family home.

As things stand the moment I can\'t say that we\'ll be looking to install these units again any time soon.
