Unlike conventional alarm systems, an alarm in Comfort does not always mean sirens blaring and intruders have broken in. In Comfort, an alarm is generated by events in Comfort, whose behaviour is defined in the Alarm Types screen in Comfigurator (see inline pic)
For each alarm, the parameters dial out, telephone numbers 1-8 to dial out, strobe, Alarm Response, etc. Events which generate alarms include Doorbell, Security Off (system disarmed), system armed, New message, Low Battery Power Failure. The events which generate alarms are in Alarm Types > Non Detector alarms

For example when someone presses the doorbell in away mode, the system will dial to the telephone numbers checked in the Doorbell alarm type if the "Dialout" box is checked. The siren, strobe etc are not turned on because they are not selected for that alarm type

When the system is Disarmed (unset), and the "Dialout" box is checked, the system will dial to the numbers selected. The same with System Disarmed alarm type

The Alarm State determines the priority of the alarm, 0 is idle, 1 is trouble, 2 is alert/ and 3 is alarm. These settings should normally not be changed
