An old problem of ours
Since i last reported this we have had several occurances of the text dropping out of the general comments box.
I cannot repaet it but it is a regular occurance and rather annoying

Do you remember what you were doing when this happened, were you entering text at that time, or doing other things? Was the text completely lost? or was there some text?
Could it be that it was not saved since adding text?

The text is never lost while in comfigurator - it is only ever lost when re-opening an old file
It is NOT due to saving as the entire text string is invariably lost i.e. other previous saves as well
I recall a couple of occasions where some text has remained (only a line or 2) of the most recent comments but all other text has vanished.
There is a possibility that we ae filling up the text string and then the tet just drops off the end - but I recall that someone looked at this possibility before

Do you have any exclamation (!) in the general comments box?
Comfigurator treats the exclamation as the start of a comment. As such the text following that will be dropped.
For instance, when you key in the following in the comments box:
"1234567890!ABCDEFGHI"
Upon reopening the ccl file, it appears as:
"1234567890
That might explain the problem of lost text. Last edited on Monday Oct 2nd, 2006 02:36 am by adlim

Comfigurator 2.1.2 (beta) is available, see http://www.comfortforums.com/forum20/369.html
This fixes the problem where the ! character causes comments to disappear
