Hi Chiu,
please clarify, before doing a download, do you have to just press F0, or do you have to press F0 and sign in as the engineer on the keypad. This is what your instructions say. I understood that we only have to press F0 on the keypad.
I think it worth also telling engineers how to do this remotely from Comfigurator by typing DA5C01 in the command line window of the monitor I/O windowl.
Regards Ian

please clarify, before doing a download, do you have to just press F0, or do you have to press F0 and sign in as the engineer on the keypad. This is what your instructions say. I understood that we only have to press F0 on the keypad.
The instruction on the download screen reads "Press F0 on the keypad and enter Engineer Code"
Since Comfigurator 2.2.0 introduced this new requirement, some users have complained about the inconvenience of having to press F0 and entering the Engineer code.
Having to enter the Engineer Code was requested by installers, to protect against unauthorised modification of the program by their customers which may lead to attendance by the installer to problems caused by the changes. The Installer thus will have the option whether or not too reveal the Engineer Code to the particular customer
F0 is required because Comfort always requires authorisation for the Engineer code. This is a protection for the user. It is not something that is required in some circumstances and not in others.
It is not necessary to have the PC next to the keypad to do a download. You just have to press F0 on the keypad once to allow engineer Code on the PC, until the next reset I dont think that is a great inconvenience.
You can also enter F0 on Comfigurator using the Monitor commnunications window without even going to the keypad. The steps are (kindly provided by Ian Clarke)
1 Start Comfigurator
2 Select [Transfer] [Monitor I/O] so that it is ticked.
3 Select [Transfer] [System Information]
4. If asked for a password enter a normal user code, not the engineer code.
The system info window pops up, if it does not then your cannot do anything until that issue is resolved.
5 Click [OK] on the system info window to get rid of it.
6 Now in the long one line ( command line field of Comfigurator) type DA5C01 followed by carriage return. (This means Do Action - Enable Engineer)
You should see the following in the log window.
Tx: <STX>DA5C01<CR>
Rx: <STX>PS01<CR>
Rx: <STX>RA00<CR>
The PS01 is the system reporting that engineer code is now enabled.
7 Now do a standard [Transfer] [Download PC> Comfort], and all should be well with the world.
Alternately, instead of DA5C01, the string equivalent to F0 can be entered
KD0A
KD00
The first string is F key. The 2nd string is the 0 key
