Would it be hard to add the option to paste in HEX code?
It would save time not having to learn every code again, also I find that some IR codes comfort will not learn.
ie; Panasonic Plasma On

I think the hex codes you refer are what you learn from Pronto
These are not compatible with Comfort IR code format, so they cannot be pasted in
We are working on improvements to the IR learning
In the meantime if you have problems learning any code, you could send us the "war" codes which are available as an option in the IR learning software

Hex codes are the standard for IR,
Is it possible to make a small application that will convert Hex to the comfort IR format. Then we could all utilise sites like online databases for IR codes. I use these sites quite often as it is allot quicker that learning them all one by one.

I agree with Scott, modification of the IR Utility within Comfigurator to import hex codes would be a useful addition and would boost the code database substantially.
Hex codes are very accessible, load here for example. These discrete codes are very handy if you only have a power toggle button on the remote but need a power off command for example. There are also utilities that clean up learnt codes providing better operation.
I guess one of the cavets would be understanding the limitations of the Comfort IR systems and frequency response as certain codes would be out of range.

Yes this has my vote too.
I want to Control a Sharp Aquos 46" LCD TV with my IRM01 but haven't a clue how I'm gonna get the codes into Comfort. I don't want to buy a UCM/IR just for this so a hex import would be great.

Many years ago before we had the UCM IR learner we used to have a DOS program which converted the hex codes to Comfort IR codes format. We have not used it in years and will have to dig it up
Perhaps there are others who have thee software

| I assume you are referring to "ccfdecompiler?". If you could have a look for it I'd appreciate it as one the jobs I'm on now needs to control multiroom audio, and a CCTV system via IR and I have access to clean source codes.

That utilty was used about 8 years ago to convert Pronto Hex codes, but it will not work with the current UCM hardware software. From memory it was a complex process and did not always work
We are now working an a new version of the IR learner software which will incorporate this feature.

Excellent. To make it more universal it is probably more important to be able to work with hex codes. There are a lot of learning remotes and this seems the most common way of export. I guess conversions of CCFs are good though because you can get a complete set of codes in quickly.
If you need any beta testers....

It will actually convert hex codes, as the ccf file consists of many codes, and anyway they use pcf files nowadays with the latest Prontos

Correct. Would be cool if there were a third party IR database with importers and exporters for all the different remotes + a good hardware learner. The RTI libray manager is almost there just missing a general purpose import expot facility.
Anyone know if such a thing exsists?

The best one I have found it the Sonance Optilink learner, using the navigator software. I use this for everything. (Learn, Import / Export HEX)

Cheers Scott. This looks very much like this... from RTI. Reading the Sonance PDF it even mentions .CML files which is exactly how data in RTIs IR Library manager is stored. What I cannot find in this is the ability to import/Export hex files only CML's. The only way to play with hex files is on a cut and paste basis. So maybe there is a difference in the SW?
RTI's learner manual is almost word for word so I'm certain that RTI make this kit.
