The application note is attached, but it is out of date. It applies to the old UCM01
Now you can talk to Lutron (Grafik Eye) using the Universal UCM
In Universal UCM Properties, select UCM Type = Lutron as shown in the screenshot
The Response wizard is able to select the UCM as Lutron
Select Lutron, then the Lutron commands can be selected
This is the way to send commands to Lutron
We should do a new application note

Thank you, this makes a lot more sense now.
If I want to integrate with both Lutron lighting and Heatmiser heating do I need a universal UCM and a Heatmiser UCM or just the universal UCM? (I don't understand the need for different UCMs when both systems are Ethernet based).

You need a Universal UCM for the Lutron as well as Heatmiser UCM
Both Universal UCM and Heatmiser UCM come without any interface, you have to buy Rs232 or Ethernet separately
Lutron Grafik Eye has RS232, not sure if it also has ethernet?
If it uses the same protocol over Rs232 and ethernet then either can be used
Heatmiser products can be RS485 or wifi (different models)
The UCM/Heatmiser for Rs485 is currently supported, The Ethernet interface for Heatmiser is still not ready yet
Even if both are ethernet interfaces, the communications protocol is different for the two products so you need different ucms to understand the different commands
You may even have two 3rd party products which can be supported by UCM/Universal with Ethernet interface, even in this case you would need 2 UCM/Universals

The UCM Command Type can be selected from the dropdown list as shown below
Make sure you Comfigurator version is the latest ie 3.8.8 or above
However note that the Lutron Graphic Eye command set may not be the same as what you have because these commands were developed many years ago

Thank you. I have managed to set that and found the wizard you mention. How do I setup the IP of the Lutron? It seems to be expecting RS232 and my UCM has an Ethernet module as does my Lutron QSE-CI-NWK-E.

You set up the IP address using DS Manager if you have ETH02 or Comfort Server Manager if you have ETH03
Run the software from Comfigurator Options > Settings
You should be able to see the IP adress of the ETHxx. Note that this is not the ETH that is being used to program Comfort. It should be the one that is attached to the Univeral UCM

The Lutron Commands can be used for UCM/Universal or UCM general
Both UCMs are able to support Lutron commands
However there is an error in the Lutron Actions when more than 1 Control Unit is specified
This should be fixed in the future Comfigurator release (after 3.8.9)
If you send the commands to only 1 control unit then there is no problem
