The Comfort system supports integration to Z-Wave devices via the UCM/Z-Wave module.
Z-Wave is the wireless interoperable communication protocol developed by Zensys from Denmark. ZWave modules are available for Europe from several manufacturers like Harmony (remote controls), Merten, ACT and others

The UCM/Z-Wave provides a connection to an Z-Wave network, enabling control of Z-Wave devices, providing the following benefits:
  • telecontrol and status monitoring through any telephone inside or outside the premises to control devices on the Z-Wave Network
  • allows control from Comfort’s keypads including the KT01 touchscreen keypad.
  • allows control by Time Programs.
  • allows alarm inputs and alarm conditions to be linked to Z-Wave switches for integration of alarm and lighting.
Note that the UCM/Zwave is a one-way interface ie it allows Comfort to send commands to the Zwave network, but it does not receive commands from the Zwave remote control, because of limitations to the Zwave communications protocols (each device is either a controller or a controllable device)

The UCM/Zwave operates at the 868 Mhz European frequency band. Further information can be found in the UCM/Zwave Manual at http://www.cytech.biz/Downloads/Files/197/ZWaveman.pdf
