Comfigurator 2.9.1-2.9.9 Beta
#1
We are making the new version of Comfigurator 2.9.x Beta available for testing by interested users for download and testing from here
 • The beta version is 2.9.x; the final released version will be 3.0
 • The new version requires the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.  If it is not already installed, the CF installation will download and install it.
 •  The new version will coexist with V2.2.3 and uses a different settings mechanism so will not interfere with existing Registry settings for 2.2.3.
 • Files can be read either in the old format (.ccl and .cct) or the new format (.cclx and .cctx).  They can only be written in the new format currently.
 • Note the new style of the Monitor I/O window below the main window, not a separate window.
 •  All program options except Select Default Template are in the Options>Settings menu option.
 • Both Tools menu options are supported.
 • Toolbars can be customised under Options > Settings
 • Last Connection Properties and Installer Details added in Configuration > General Information

 • Where relevant, the tooltip feature for displaying Comfort address values has been replaced by a field in the status bar which shows the address and value (e.g. see Modules & Settings>Number of Keypads).
 • The window layout for each individual screen is saved so that you can optimize each layout to suit the amount of data etc.
 • There is an extra feature on the Zones/Inputs and Outputs screens – checking the Show Status option will display the current status of all inputs or outputs.
 • Printing is not supported yet
 • Help file not updated yet
 • The final options for Engineer Code or User Code entry for download have not been implemented.
 • If with AND and OR conditions are possible
 • Zwave and HDL UCMs are supported in Names > UCMs
This is a major change and with many features not fully described yet. It is safe to install it without affecting the current Comfigurator 2.2.3. However do not use it for live systems. Comments and feedback on this forum please

First issue:
The \"Select Default Template\" form,  appears behind  the splash screen, and we can\'t select the combobox items, without using a workaround (task manager to switch to the form)

Second:
I find a new set of modern icon, instead of old VB style icons, will have more \"appeal\"
Old icons are intuitive, but makes your job little retro\'.

More to come...  Wink

We have not been able to duplicate this with Vista but the next version will have changes so this will not occur.

The new beta version of the next generation Comfigurator 2.9.2 is available for testing. Please download from here
The older version 2.9.1 should be uninstalled before installing this version
This version includes:
 • \"Require Engineer Code to Download\" in Modules & Settings > Configuration Flags. When uploading or downloading for the first time in a session. Comfigurator will first ask for User Code to read the value of the Engineer Code Flag setting.  If Engineer Code is required, Comfigurator will then ask for Engineer Code (F0 will be required). This allows Installers to program with User code for convenience and set to \"Engineer Code Required\" when programming is completed if he wants to restrict the customer from reprogramming the system.

 • Auto-save implemented
 • Import items from other configuration file (including Tuning).  This currently only allows import of items which have no dependencies on other items.
 • IFR codes now included in cclx file
 • Printing
 • Bug-fixes and other minor changes
The main missing items are the Help file and conversion of CCLX to CCL
Known Bugs
 • Selective Download causes crash

Loaded up my 2.x config out of curiosity.

It shows , in red, and error in all responses that have \"invalid keyword: keypad 1 broadcast enable\"

also

invalid syntax: x10 a4 dim 4 (lots of these in different responses)

also

response name not present in configuration : Do AmpOff
but this responses does exist and works in the current config

I just tried and found that within CF V2.9.2.0:

1- There is no Output names 65 to 128.

2- When you change the name of an Output - let say Output 129, after hit Enter or Mouse Click, the screen always back to beginning - i.e. start from Output 1 onward, instead of maintain or display the next Output (for convenience of changing the next Output name for example)

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback. These will be fixed in the next release

Outputs are from 1 to 64 for Comfort and Slaves, and 129 onwards for SCS/RIO  outputs. There are no outputs from 65 to 128 in Comfort at present

the point about the Outputs screen resetting to the beginning should also be fixed

The X10 command format \"X10 A4 DIM 4\"  is not a valid action anymore after Comfort 4.97. The actions doscumentation states;

____________________________________________________
Dim and Bright command format from Version 4.23 to 4.96:
195,66,5,137 DIM for 4 cycles to ¡®B5¡¯. No of cycles x 32 = 128 + 9 = 137(for v4.23 to v4.97)

From 4.97, the Dim and Bright commands have been changed. Action 109 is used to set the number of repeat cycles for the Dim and Bright commands, instead of embedding the repeat cycles in the Dim/Bright Command. This new method allows up to 32 dim or bright repeat cycles to be implemented, instead of just 7 with the old method.

E.g. To dim A5 by 10 cycles using the new method, use actions
109,10 (set no. Of cycles to 10)
195,65,5,9,255. (X10 A5 dim)
----------------------------------------------
You must have started your ccl file a long time ago. I doubt that the X10 Dim 4 command would be wrking as expected in your current firmware which is quite up to date

Just an FYI - I dont use those X10 commands.

What I Do use tho is :

\"invalid keyword: keypad 1 broadcast enable\"

And that as listed above gives errors. I use this to silence the keypads when arming to night mode etc.

The Invalid Keypad Broadcast Enable problem has been identified and wil be fixed in the next beta
