Suggestion for later firmware/systems:
It would be great for the answering machine feature to also save the Caller ID (phone number), especially when you are away from home and recieve an alert call.

Thanks for the suggestion. You mean you would like to hear the caller number when you receive a call fro, Comfort when someone has left a message?
Surely the person who recorded the message would announce himself in the message?

perhaps store the number as a range of hex in a few counters ? comfort cant hold a long numeric string directly anywhere ?
at least thay way we could action responses based on an incoming number or do something intelligent

Good evening
Basically I believe that the CID is useful in general and for calls may be lost, but more to beginning an incoming call based on the ID and to hear that message. Example, Nick I am home to get mobile.
Alongside this will be extra safe, that is, someone calling the comfort we can run even if this scenario is planned, so there will be extra security but also save money by the phone (I mean here that if the system is armed with a missed can be disarming)

I wouldn\'t get the system to say the number on a call as it would probably take too long. You could show the number on the keypads for example instead. If the number is saved it can be reviewed later.
Think of the following: You are on holiday and one of your family calls the house and leaves a message but not their number. You don\'t have their number on your mobile phone or to hand. How can you call them back?
As regards the other posts, I didn\'t think of the security aspects! If anyone attempts to access the system or disarm etc, the phone number could be taken into the log etc.
Also you may want to specify the phone numbers which could access the menu system.
Something to think about!

One excellent side effect is this - an anti-spam system.
I would love to have a list of known phone numbers that are cold callers/marketing callers/etc - and just cut them off !
Now thats a feature on it\'s own

Caller ID would be a great feature. Sometimes people don\'t leave a message so it would be handy to have numbers in the call list to see who had called whilst you were out.
Secondly it would be even better if comfort could generate and insert \"Front Door\" or \"Front Gate\" Caller ID\'s etc. to the internal phones so when somebody presses the button on the door or gate station it can be seen on the phone handset. At present it just says EXTERNAL.
Regards,
Jon
