I have a couple of questions / problems i want to share and try to resolve. Since last june i have a gen2 comfort CPU. During installation i run into a couple of problems / bugs:

- sometimes when resetting the system the recorded usernames and/or answering machine greeting message are erased. This is very annoying as you can imagine. How can i prevent this from happening?

- the total time of recording messages from incoming calls is limited to about 2 minutes. When configuring a longer time the phrase \'Thank you, goodby\' is heard right after the greeting message so nothing can be recorded.

- when recording the user names and greeting message, you have to end the recording by pressing the #-key. When i listen to the recordings, at the end of these recordings the sound of this #-key is heard shortly. So it records a bit of the DTMF tone of this key. Is this configurable so that is does not record it?

- when someone leaves a message and hangs up, the busy tone of my phoneline is recorded for about 3 seconds. This is annoying because when someone listens to the greeting message and then hangs up without leaving a message, comfort indicates a new message is waiting on arrival / sign in, but al that is recorded is the busytone. Can i somehow learn comfort the detection of this busytone?

What you describe abojut the answering machine recording time is due to a bug in the earlier verison of firmware
We have sent replacement firmware 5.054 to our distributors, so you should be receiving one shortly. Who do you buy Comfort from?
The recording of the busy tone and # key are not bugs but this is something that we are looking into for a future firmware release
To avoid the DTMF key key appearing on yojur greeting message and user name use the local phone and hang up the phone when you finish. This not only avoids the # key tone but it gives a better recording as there is less background noises compared to recording from the keypad

I bought my system through andrew roberts. I think i was the first to detect the record time bug, maybe you remember the various emails back and forth:-)

What about the dissappearing user names / greeting message after reset?

We have not encoutered disappearing user names,  but lets see if you encouter this with the new firmware
Has Andrew contacted you regarding the upgrade firmware?
