Hi I have a Comfort Ultra purchsed a few years ago and only just being put into use.
ULT 5.045
Board PC01-050B and PC01-051B
The UCM is board PC01 017E with UCM 5.92 mounted in a socket with the Tibbo module on PC01 045B.
I note in the manual about older boards that need the header adding and R57 removing. My board already has R56 removed but no header and R51 is in place
Question:-
do i need to place a short on the 485 ?
if no then I have a problem as the Tibbo DS Manager will not see the device, I have all firewalls off and have used two diffrent computers to try to find the device.
D103 if flashing twice every few seconds D103 in on most of the time. can you advise what is the next step.
Thanks

After removing the R57 surface mount resistor, you need to put a shunt on the 485 (if you have already soldered the 3-pin header) or alternatively put a short on R51 to select 485 for Ethernet interface, this will effectively convert your UCM01 to UCM/Ethernet.

However did you buy the UCM/Ethernet as such or did you buy a UCM01 and add a Ethernet (Tibbo_ plug in board? If the former you should not need to make any changes as the UCM would already be configured as Ethernet

It was purchased as a UCM/Ethernet and the Tibbo was already mounted, R57 was already removed and R51 mounted so i suspect it is correct.
But I cannot se the device using the software, any further thoughts ?

Which OS are you using? Your UCM/Ethernet is quite old so the DS Manager may need to be upgraded to a newer version to work with the later OS like Windows 7 and Vista

I am using vista in both computers i have but i downloaded the latest version and that does not see the device.
The double flash does not switch to a tripple flash when the software is sending out its discovery packets, and both systems that i have tried have firewalls switched off

How are you connecting the UCM/Ethenet to network, using a parallel cable to the switch or cross cable to the computer?
A cross cable is supplied with theUCM/Ethernet so this cannot be used to connect to the hub or switch
If you connect to your computer with a cross cable you can set a fixed IP address for the PC and try to detect with DS Manager

I was using a normal patch lead into a switch and the computer into the switch, but i will give it a try on with a x over lead and a fixed ip. I will let you know what happens. Thanks John

I have got the same result, when I plug the x over lead in I see a flurry of activity on the activity LED but DS manager still does not see the device.
I have also tried pinging 10.0.0.51 - 10.0.0.60 and get no resposne, my computers ip was set to 10.0.0.1 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0
Fire wall is set to off

Can you check if you have more than 1 network adaptors on your PC. If so DS Manager may have difficulty selecting the correct one to use
On your computer, Go to Control Panel > System > Device Manager (this is for XP, Vista may be a bit different), look for network adaptors, If you have more than 1 network adaptor, disable the others (right click and disable) and try DS Manager again
A customer was using VMwave which installed virtual network adaptors and had the same problem as you
Let me know the DS Manager version you have
