Trigger event on user sign in
#1
Hi

Could anyone advise on the best way to trigger a response when a user disables the away alarm with their user id.

I\'m looking to switch on a series of X10 lights when a specific user signs in.

Many thanks
Mike

Answering my own question having found another posting asking similar question...

Seems as though you cant assign a response just to a user signing in...

You can trigger a Response when a user arms or disarms the system with their code but not when they just sign in, because they may just want to access the user menu

You can use a Function Key with code to do what you want.
This is in Control > Keypad in Comfigurator. You can assign a Response to any of the keypad keys which follow the F key. You can also determine if a user code is required to access the function.

Hi

Thanks - thats great - could you point me in the direction of the Action Code / Condition that I would need to use for this - to set a response when a user disarms the system.

Many thanks

To activate a Response when the user disarms the system assign to Misc Events > Security Off Response as shown in the screenshot below
The Response which I made,  titled DisarmResponse is activated when anyone disarms.

The other method that I mentioned is to program a Function key to require a code, to activate a Response. This does not need the user to disarm the system
In the screenshot below, F9 is programmed to run the Response called \"SigninResponese\"
Note that \"Need Code\" checkbox is checked which means that when you press F9, you are asked to sign in with a valid code before the Response is triggered
