Panic driving me nuts!

Hi,

I installed my own comfort system approx 6/7 years ago. I\'m not an installer but i am technically minded and familiar with electronics.  The system has been working fine all that time with no problems up until now...

Recently the system have been going in to panic mode for no reason. It does not matter whether the alarm is set or not (which is probably correct),  It just seems to randomly go off. This fault is intermittent and can go weeks without a problem and then go off 3 or 4 times a day and then all quite for a while and then maybe go off a few times over a weekend and then nothing. It has gone off twice today. I thought it was a temperature problem at one point but have pretty much discounted that now. It can go off day or night.

I never actually installed a panic button with the original setup.

I have all the manuals & notes but am very rusty on most of the setup that i did to configure the system. I get the feeling that a chip or component is breaking down somewhere? Is there a way to dis-able the panic mode?

Can somebody throw any light on this or help as it\'s getting rather annoying now!

You dont have a panic button installed but you are getting panic alarms?

You must have programmed a zone as a Panic Zone Type and left it unconnected, so perhaps noise has caused this to activate
Check your original ccl file for a panic zone and set it to Null Zone Type

I had a quick look this morning and discovered with my notes a little board with an RS232 socket on it which I guess is the PC interface, but I can\'t think why it would not be connected to the system?

I have the software on a floppy but I\'m pretty sure the code required to access the software would have been lost with an old email account that is no more. I vaguely remember an email saying don\'t lose this it can\'t be replaced which doesn\'t bode well!

I\'ll work through the manual to see if I can remember how I programmed it all & see if I can get the pc connection working.

Hi,

There was a Panic Zone set. I have reset the zone type from Zone 12 to zone 8.
Hopefully this will cure the problem.

I have yet to setup the Interface board & Comfigurator software again. Is there a way I can get hold of the activation code as this is lost in an old email account?

Comfigurator does not need and activation code as it is free
You may be using the old version Comfigurator 1 which used to have a code required for downloading
If you have your ccl file you can open it using the current version of Comfigurator which you can downnload from http://www.comfortforums.com/forum20/1798.html
You will not need a code to open the file
