I have just fitted an internal speaker to my Comfort II system (across SPK- & 12VF). Previously I have been alerted to an alarm condition (when in the property) by the alarm from the KP04 keypad but the risk is that someone lowers the volume on it and I don\'t hear an alarm, hence the installation of the speaker.
I know that I can reduce the speaker volume for Trouble & Information tones by adjusting VR1 (By the way the installation manual wrongly says VR3).
I also want to reduce the volume for Alarms which are at full volume (i.e. not affected by VR1).
If I change the High Level setting in the Siren Types from a Yes to No for the Intruder siren (and any others I want) will this cause the speaker to sound at the reduced (VR1 controlled level) under alarm conditions? Assuming this works is the volume to the external siren unaffected?
Alternatively can I add an resistor in-line with the speaker (I am using a 16 ohm speaker).
Cheers Ian
