Cequra to Cequra2 Sounder/Bell Box Upgrade Issue
#1
Hi,

I have recently had to replace my existing Cequra sounder / bell-box with a replacement item, i.e. a Cequra2 unit.

These are the connections used on the original unit (no resistors fitted).

Code:
A/T Ret Signal --------- Tamper
Supply Hold Off (+ve) -- SRN+
Supply Hold Off (-ve)  -- COM
Siren Trig ------------- SRN-
Stroble Trig ----------- STR-
Set -------------------- n/c

So I though I\'d be able to simply transpose these same connections to the Cequra2 unit as follows (note, some of the connection naming is different on the Cequra2).

Code:
Tamper ---------------- Tamper
Hold Off (+ve) -------- SRN+
Hold Off (-ve)  -------- COM
Siren ----------------- SRN-
Stroble --------------- STR-
Set ------------------- n/c
System Fail ----------- n/c

Again I didn\'t fit any resistors.

When testing I experienced two issues, the strobe was on permanently and the siren wouldn\'t sound. After some experimentation I fitted a pair of 1K resistors (between the +ve Hold Off and Siren & +ve Hold Off and Strobe).

This has fixed those issues and both the siren/strobe now function as expected.

However I still have an issue with the \'cheep-cheep\' arm notification which I used to get when full-arming the solution. This is still not working. I really want this to work, since it\'s a very good arm-notification indication.

Any ideas appreciated.

FYI, on the Cequra2 the unit is configurable for +ve/-ve strobe & alarm configuration, I have left this as default (i.e. -ve).

Also (for reference), what\'s the meaning of \'trigger wire monitoring facility\' since the Cequra2 instructions show two connection methods, one without this and one with it? FYI I have used the \'without\' option.

Is there any documentation on this Cequra2?

Here you go.

My wiring is based on Page 3 (actually page 4 of the PDF).

Oh and I managed to answer my own question about TWM (Trigger Wire Monitoring) after referring to the CQR website.

http://www.cqr.co.uk/technical-support/bellbox-faqs

However as mentioned in my original post I have not wired my installation to use TWM.

You say you have not implemented TWM, but you have connected the 1K resistors. Doesnt that mean you have implemented TWM? What ealse is required?

The Away Armed Siren Type (No4) should have \"BELL\" enabled

Try increasing the siren duration of the Away Armed Siren from 1 second to 2 seconds, in case the Cequra cannot respond a shirt burst of signal
