Would this require a hardware alteration?

Me thinks it may be a \'simple\' firmware change?

Can we get the ringer module to produce a significantly different ring tone and be able to activate this from a response.

When you ask for a different tone and duration, please understand only a different cadence and duration of the ring is possible, not the ring tone

A Ringer sends a high voltage signal to the telephones. The ring tone is determined by the phone, and each phone may ring with a different tone.

We can only control the pattern of rings eg how long the ring and silence intervals are, ie the cadence

The door station already rings with a different cadence, on for 2 seconds and off for 2 seconds. In the UK and a few other countries the phones ring with 0.5 seconds 0.5 silence, 0.5 sec ring and 1.5 seconds silence. so the two are quite different already.
So it may not be easy to find a ringing cadence that is noticeably different

If someone picks up the phone then it would say \"doorbell\" rather than \"door phone\" \"press 1 for\" etc

It already says \"Doorbell\" and not \"press 1 for etc\" and has done for many years

So ideally if someone rings the doorbell (not door phone but a volt free contact connected to a push button) then we get the telephone to ring (with a different tone or duration or both).

You can use the existing Action 9  to trigger the doorbell response which rings the phone etc.  In Firmware 6.020, a new feature was added that when a door station is not connected, when you answer the phone or keypad, it will say \"Thank you goodbye\", see http://www.comfortforums.com/forum79/2815.html

So except for the different ring tone, this is already possible with the latest firmware
