Finding my responses
#1
It is nice to have the responses that I create grouped together in the list of responses so that they are easy to find. This can be done by fixing them, say starting at number 300, but fixing has disadvantages.

If you start the description of your own responses with a particular string (your initials perhaps or \"AA\" or \"00\" or anything you fancy) then when using the \"Select a response\" window, you can click on \"Description\" to sort the entries by the Description field and all your responses will be grouped together (and at the top of the list if you choose your string carefully).

Even for the built-in responses, I think they are easier to find by Name or Description than by number and Comfigurator usefully remembers the sort order next time you open the \"Select a response\" window.

I find if you have all your responses start with the room name that they are in / control it really speeds up finding them - not to mention makes trouble shooting easier :-)

eg

LoungePIROn
LoungePIROff
LoungeLights1
LoungeLights2

etc etc

Yes...

We use default templates that have the responses named as per the response locations within comfigurator. They also have all the other responses stripped out.. (again makes life easier for us!)

e.g.

In
Time programs : TP01_XXXX
Keypad response : KP5_EventLog
Misc Events: ME_SecOff
Zone 1: Z01ON_
Control menu 1,1,3 : CM113_

etc

A short description is still possible after the _ e.g. Z01ON_CBUS-G23

Cytech were given one of our default .cclx files some while ago but I can supply again. Or contact me direct.

You can delete unused Responses in order to make it easier to find Responses

see topic Delete Unreferenced and Unused Responses at
