ComfortClient Connection

It seems that the new Comfigurator 3.5.x now stores the configuration settings with different keywords in the CCLX file which is not backwards compatible with previous CCLX file versions so ComfortClient cant read.

If your CCLX file is in 3.5.x mode then for the moment please use the override checkboxes in ComfortClient Connections tab to instead store your connection settings in ComfortClient config. I guess I\'ll need to create a maintenance release to now work around!

Sorry about that but outside of my control, but looking at the revised keywords they\'ve used it would seem IMHO an unecessarily change that then affects downstream apps.

Sorry about the change in keywords, we did not realise that it would affect ComfortClient and other downstream applications and should have provided some warning.

However the important change is that Comfigurator now saves both the local and remote network connections in the cclx file
This means that if you connect to Comfort from the LAN and Internet, you do not have to re-enter the IP addresses when you change from one to the other

Prior to Comfigurator 3.5, the actual UCM connection method was not in the cclx file.

This is especially important for installers who have several customer sites, that the connection settings of each are saved in the cclx file

I think it would be good for ComfortClient to be able to use the saved connection settings so when you select Serial, Network or USB, the addresses for each are also loaded.

ComfortClient has always read all three sets of communication settings on load so DID allow for changing of connection types saved in the CCLX even prior to 3.5.x.

The only difference i guess was that i didnt know which method was ACTIVE ie last used by comfigurator so would always assume NETWORK unless the connection type override was chosen in the Client.

Yes but now there are 2 sets of Network settings, local and remote

so Local may be 192.168.1.100 port 1001
Remote may be xxx.dyndns.org port 12345

So by selecting Local or Remote, you could use the saved settings without having to re-key. Before if you used local IP address and you wanted to connect from internet you would have to key in the remote IP again as it was not stored
