The battery/Supplementary power supply is really a requirement for an intruder alarm system as the system would be very vulnerable without one. A power cut would disable the system.
The main power supply is able to provide 1 Amp + to power all the devices. hence when you have a few speakers or sirens this exceeds the maximum load and requires the battery to help supply some of the current

Understood.  But as stated above, the battery is connected and healthy

Sorry missed what you said about battery connected
The speaker output is specified as 8 ohms. If you connect two 8 ohms speakers the load becomes onyl 4 ohms. Yu can try connecting the speakers in series instead of parallel which means that the load is 16 ohms for 2 8 ohms speakers
