Doorstation: beep beep beep beep beep beep beep
#1
Details: G2 V5.05  Def 34

Doorphone G2 - i have the details of all three if required.

The current problem: when i use an internal phone to dial into comfort and talk to doorphone (6) everything works OK for between 30 sec to ........5 min (sometimes it is perfectly ok) then the doorphone gives a loud beep beep beep beep beep beep ...... you cannot get rid of this unless you clear down. The same happens of someone rings the doorphone and it is answered on the internal phone.

In order to rectify the situation i have attempted to change the doorphone, however I was on site yesterday with 2 new doorphones. They actually made the problem worse e.g. the beep beep occured EVERY time the dorphone was answered.

My only option left is to change the main board? Can someone please shed some light on this problem?

Beeping usually means there is a Trouble alarm. Is there an event on the event log or a trouble alarm displayed on the keypad when this happens?

It indicates that when the talking goes on for a while some trouble is being generated. I dont know what it would be at tis stage but the event log should reveal this

if you have firmware 5.05 (Is that the correct number?) then it should be upgraded to a post 5.054 version (free upgrade). This may or may not have anything to do with your current problem

The beeping is NOT a normal comfort beep  - its more like a telephone of hook noise (its NOT the off hook noise).

I think that next visit i will change the main CPU.

The customer is posting the event log today so ill forward to you.

Could you record the strange sound?
I have no idea what it could be.

Ill try - I expect next time i\'m on site i will just change the main board

If it still does it i\'m into a cabling issue so will rig up a doorphone next to the main comfort unit and disconnect current unit.

Is there any fax connected to the TEL OUT of Comfort? How many telephones are connected in parallel to the TEL OUT?

The tel out goes to a master socket (Comfort master and test (not BT)) and then direct to a patch panel with 8 patches to wall sockets

As far as i know there is no fax - i recall that there is one tel and one DECT.

The customer has a VoIP tel connected directly into the router but the router has a fixed DSL filter at the incoming BT master.

We replaced the main board and it now appears to be OK - sent back via to supplier
