GSM5A version 8.017
This firmware is for UCM/GSM5 which supports the GSM Modules A7608 and EC21. The functions of Ec21 are similar to A7608 except that it performs better when dialing to a Central Station Receiver This is only for ARM firmware

GSM4 Firmware 8.017 can be upgraded to GSM5 8.017

GSM5A8.039

1. Allowed GSM LTE bands B1 (2100 Mhz), B3 (1800 Mhz), B5 (850 Mhz), B7 (2600 Mhz), B8 (900 Mhz), B20 (800 Mhz), B28 (700 Mhz), and 2G bands, but not 3G bands which have been almost removed  from use in most of the world . PPrevious versions were more limited in the selection.
   
2. The frequency band which is currently connected can be read from eeprom by entering RD12000401 assuming the GSM ID is 2. The reply should be RD12000401BBcc, where BB is the band number described above, and cc is a checksum. It may be useful to know which is band is in use. The inmfo is updated after a scan for modules
   
3. Note that GSM5A 8.024 which locks the frequency to B8, 900 Mhz is more suitable for sending alarms to Central Monitoring systems receivers by Contact ID. Low frequencies are better suited to transmiision of DTMF signals without distortiaon to the Central station receivers
   
4. The GSM status bar wion the bottom left will display Network Strength (0/10 to 10/0) and Signal to Noise (0/10 to 10/10)Network Strngth is the measure of the signal strnegth in the band. Signal to Noise is ameasure of the quality of the signal. High Signal to Noise ratio menas a good signal while oow signal to noise ratio means more noise in the signal. Please update the defaults in Comfigurator by going to File > Update Defaults. This updates the status measurements in Comfigurator
