Background noise on telephone

I have noticed a small amount of background noise over the telephone once comfort is connected into the chain of telephones in the house. When I disconnect comfort it goes away? I have noticed this on my last 3 jobs. When you pick up the phone to make a call you can hear it.

Has anyone else had this??
