How do I connect Voltek camera PIR direct to comfort?
#1
I have a Voltek 1877 eyecam on my front door. Until now I have had the PIR output from the camera and the 12v supply to the camera connected across the coil of a relay and have connected the relay output to a comfort input. This works fine, but because the PIR triggers so many times in response to a person arriving at the house, the relay makes a lot of noise.

Can I connect the PIR output directly to a comfort input instead? I tried this with zone type set to switch NO, type 8 and the zone jumper in the right place, but got an immediate zone trouble alarm. Do I need to use a pull up resistor, or something similar?

Thanks,

Graham

You can connect the PIR to an input only if it provides a dry contact or voltage-free contact. If there is voltage from the PIR into Comofrt, it may cause a trouble alarm
If it is a dry contadt then the EOL shunts for the Comfort zone must be set to NO EOL or Double EOL depending on whether you connect the EOL resistors or not. Refer to the Installation manual for EOL connections
