Hi
running Ultra 6.005, UCM 10 6.008, system has been up ~10months, today it just hung, keypads all reporting comms failure, system was unarmed at the time. Logs after power off/on dont show anything except the last security off and then the system being powered up.
Any advise on what to do next time to assist with troubleshooting this as I see below my posts someone else has had a similiar issue.
thanks
Adrian
As mentioned in another post, you should upgrade firmware to ULT 6.020 as even though the problem is not found in the lab we may have identified a possible mechanism
Upgrade the Comfort 2 firmware by Comfort Bus method, see instructions in
http://www.comfortforums.com/forum92/2409.html Please read carefully before attempting this
OK
Just as a matter of interest - e have just sorted out another problem site.
There were a number of PIR\'s ( 15+ ) bellbox and case tamper. The tampers has ALL been wired in series NOT EOL. This means that there were 15+ connections in the comfort unit for the tamper connections. I recon that this tamper circuit could have been close to 1000m with 30+ connections.
The potential for faults or interference is i would suggest rather large!
I am just installing a system with 13 PIRs each with tamper wires. All the wires lead to the main box. How would you suggest I wire these? I\'ve seen that connecting these in series is not the best thing. However, all the wires lead back to the comfort box. I can\'t seem to find any clear documentation on this.
Connecting the PIRs in series is not a good idea, because you would want to know which PIR has been triggered during an alarm and Zone Responses can be priogrammmed switch on lights at night, etc so having individual wiring for zones is very useful
However the tampers can be connected in series and wired back to the common Tamper input on Comfort. Alternately one of the zones can also be programmed as a Tamper Zone Type
Thanks for your reply. Yes I was referring to the tamper on all the PIRs.
I gather from your response that I don\'t need to use the resisters in the series run for all the tamper lines coming from the PIRs?
Thanks,
Willem
You do not need to connect the series resistors on the tampers
