There has been an important change to the way Daylight Saving is handled in the UCM/ETH03 Internet Time Synchronisation service

(Before ETH03 firmware 2.14) ETH03 used to send the date and time based on the location of the computer Date and Time settings. This  has a UTC offset, and is adjusted for Daylight saving  by ETH03 depending on the time of year, so +1 hours until October 26th this year. Hence ETH03 was responsible for adjusting for daylight saving time.

When the time changes at the end of daylight saving, ETH03 would continue to  send the time with + 1 hour, unless Comfort server manager SNTP is run again when the time would become +0.  Thus the time after daylight saving changes would be wrong unless CS Manager/SNTP was run again

This has been changed so that ETH03 will only send the time from the Time server with UTC offset but without any daylight saving adjustment. The adjustment for daylight saving will be dne by Comfort as it has the information from the Schedule > Sunrise/Sunset tables (the City Location must be entered)

This requires several changes
  1. Comfort server Manager 2.06
  2. ETH03 firmware 2.14
  3. Comfort firmware 7.065
  4. UCM 7.060
Comfigurator will prompt to update Comfort Server Manager 2.06 in Options > Settings > UCM Connections > select Network Local or Internet

IMPORTANT
After upgrading to the new CSM software and ETH03 firmware, go to SNTP, check \"Update Comfort Time\" and press the SUBMIT button. If you do not, the time may not be correct

Please Upgrade UCM 7.060 before ETH03 2.14

To upgrade UCM firmware to the latest, right click on the UCM and select \"Check for Updates\"

ETH03 firmware 2.14 must be downloaded from https://www.cytech.biz/download_files.php?item_id=711

To  ULT 7.065 firmware right Click on Controller and select Check for updates

I have downloaded the ETH03 firmware. How do I upgrade / insert this .hex file through configurator?

Guest

I upgraded the firmware yesterday so that I could take advantage of the additional ETH03 features.

I enabled the SNTP function but when I tick the box to send the time to Comfort, the system sees GMT and not the daylight saving, so timed functions are happening an hour late.

I have my location programmed for correct sunrise and sunset times, which according to the first post in this thread, should result in the correct daylight saving adjustment being automatically applied.

Any advice, please?

I\'ve cracked it!

I had neglected to update the Comfort firmware which was still version 7.063.

I should have read the initial post properly!
